"The Mar Monte Hotel exceeded our expectations. I chose it to see, in person, how the renovation combined modern amenities with its 1930s structure. And the location next to the ocean, in beautiful Santa Barbara, is idyllic. Standouts were the lighting, tile, marble, furnishings, and mostly the two restaurants. On top of that, we experienced friendly service from the front desk staff and Lido Cafe server, comfortable bed and linens, and a large and heated outdoor pool. Don't miss the hand-painted mural in the cafe! "

"This is a very good option for a stay in Santa Barbara. It feels like a nearly new property which is well designed and finished. My well appointed and quite large room was on the third floor - I saw that certain rooms on the second floor had balconies, if you would like outside space. The location is perfect, a short walk to the marina and the restaurants and a short walk to Stearns Wharf. I found the breakfast to be just what was needed to start the day. Oh yes, I was greeted with a pleasant welcome, which is always appreciated."

"Checkin person not very friendly. Clean rooms with free parking. We parked in front of our room. We used the pool and spa. Both were clean and pool was a good temp. Free (small) breakfast was just right before heading out. We never moved our car as the beach, pier, and restaurants are an easy walk from the hotel. Checkout person was much friendlier. We will return! "
