Raetikon view from Wissplatte, Voralberg, Austria

Wissplatte with altitude 2.628 meters is an accessible summit in the Raetikon mountains just on the border of Austria and Switzerland. You can get there in ca. 1,5-2 hours from Tilisuna Huette or in ca. 6- 7 hours from Tschaggung in the Montafon valley.

In the view you can see the prominent spike-like peak of Schwarzhorn (2.460 m), Tilisuna Huette cabin (2.208 m altitude, just below the Schwarzhorn) and Tschaggungser Mittagspitze (2.160 m). Close to the hut you can see the Tilisuna see mountain lake (2.103 meters) under the Tilisuna Seehorn (2.342 m). The valley in the background is the Montafon valley (around 700 m alt.) with villages Vandans and Tschaggung. In the background you see the ranges of Lechquellengebirge (up to 2.700 m) and Verwallgruppe (up to 3.000 m).
On a sunny day it is just a rewarding view after the daily hike from the valley of Montafon.

"Die Wohnung ist praktisch geschnitten und nett eingerichtet. Eine Einweisung beim Check-in hat nicht stattgefunden (Bedienung der Geräte, wohin mit dem Müll, wie ist das Zimmer zu verlassen, Heizung einstellen....). Die Sauberkeit ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig. Instandhaltung scheint ein Fremdwort zu sein (Salz in der Spülmaschine war aufgebraucht und wurde trotz eindeutiget Anzeige vom Personal vor Bezug nicht nachgeüllt - ohne Salz läuft die Maschine nicht. Dann müsste der Hausmeister gerufen...

"What a wonderful property! It’s small, but very well done with a homey atmosphere that manages to also feel modern with the self check in and honor bar. Breakfast was delicious and options were plentiful with wonderful pastries, meats, cheeses, coffees and teas and a hostess to make your eggs as you like. This was just the feeling I was looking for when I booked. Our room was well appointed and had the best view from the balcony. I was a little worried about the lack of A/C, but with the doors to the balcony and the windows that opened to the mountain air, even my picky city teens were comfortable. We were only there for one night, but it was a memorable one. "
