The remains of a German ship. This ship has a long story of avoiding destruction always in the right place at the right time. After avoiding the scuttling of the German High Fleet in Scapa Flow in 1919 she broke her tow rope on the way to the breakers yard in mainland Scotland and ended up stranding in the Bsy of Lopness on the Orkney Island if Sanday. She is slowly breaking up but is still visible at low tide.

"The Lynnfield is an all round good experience. The room and public areas are attractive and have lots of character. Paintings and pictures everywhere and a manager who looks after you. Also a really good place to eat. Full marks. "

"This location was a great place to stay to explore Orkney. We loved the isolated and peaceful area. Plenty to do and see if you are prepared to drive a few miles. Spectacular cliff top walks with an abundance of bird life. The accommodation has everything you need for a self catering holiday. We stocked up with everything we needed from Tesco in Kirkwall after getting off the ferry. "
