It is very walkable into the centre of York, but at one point we chose to take the bus and that too is both convenient and easy. We would not hesitate to recommend Ascot House and will make it our first choice on any subsequent visit to York. "

"We stopped overnight for the night before getting the ferry. Apartment was central and huge. 3 bedrooms, 2 ensuite with a large living and kitchen area. Staff were wonderful prior to stay allowing us late checkout and arranging lockbox for key as we arrived late. "

"Guest house is lovely, arrival was smooth, car park was quite small and the driveway is very narrow not ideal if you have a large car as makes getting in and out difficult. Our double room was clean and nicely decorated, mattress was ok however the wooden bed frame was very creaky and we could also hear our neighbours bed too. The walls are quite thin and due to it being an older property floor boards creak. We were woken at 1am by guests in the room next door coming home, talking and walking...

"The property was in a great location that gave the opportunity to walk into the city or take a bus from outside the property. The property is on the is older but in great condition and the facilities were average for such a property. The staff were friendly and happy to share local knowledge along with their thoughts about venues to visit along with places to eat. We would use this property again as we like visiting York and the surrounding area "

Very impressed with all of the thoughtful extras included from milk in the fridge a variety of beverages, bath salts etc. Adele was a lovely host, very helpful with local information.
