Sometimes you just have to stop and take in the view! Heading down the 550 Corridor through New Mexico I finally took the time to pull off the highway and spend some time around these ancient volcanic cones on the west side of the highway, The main Jemez Pueblo and Jemez caldera is located just south a few minutes on the east side of the highway. This series of volcanic cones traces the geological history of eruption towards the main caldera site.
