Great stay in the city centre

Great stay in a nice and quiet area of the city only minutes away from the bustling town. The rooms are squeaky clean with all the amenties one needs. The host was also incredibly helpful by providing us with local tips - we tried some of the best places as a result and tried the local favourite pintxos.

Jon Buenpas is a wonderful host as the owner of the pension. He gave us local recommendations and allowed us to leave our luggage for the day after we checked out. Highly recommend this clean and wonderful property.

We had a wonderful stay at Pension BUENPAS. The accommodation is situated in a very central location, just a 5-minute walk from La Concha, allowing us to explore all the key attractions on foot. The room and amenities are basic but perfectly suited for short stays. Both the room and shared spaces were immaculate. Jon was incredibly helpful and kind, going above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent experience. We will definitely choose to stay here again on future visits to San Sebastian.

We booked this place last minute and Jon was excellent at getting all the info we needed for parking and checkin quickly. We received a very detailed message about where to park and how it works as well as instructions on how to get in our room. We didn’t have any issues with either. The place was very nice and clean. We met Jon in the morning to get the discounted parking ticket and he was so friendly and showed us the map of the town and his favourite places to eat. Excellent service all around.

Overall rather disappointing

I’ve held off writing this review for a while, but I feel the time has come to share my experience. First impressions were very good — the hotel was welcoming, very clean, and in a great location. In fact, I can’t really fault the stay itself. However, there were a few issues that changed my overall view. The front desk is not manned as it states on the website, which means it’s impossible to simply ask a question in person. That’s inconvenient enough, but the bigger problem came the day before we were due to leave. Our room had been cleaned, and I discovered that some of our clothes had been mistakenly discarded by the cleaner. I fully accept that accidents happen, but when I tried to contact the hotel immediately (via Hotels.com and text message), I received no response until two days later — after we had already left. The hotel did eventually confirm that the cleaner hadn’t realised the bag with our washing wasn’t rubbish. While I appreciated the explanation, communication has since stalled, particularly after I requested reimbursement for one item of expensive clothing. This lack of response has been very disappointing. So, would I recommend this hotel? The simple answer is: only for its location and cleanliness. It feels more like an Airbnb than a true hotel, and if service or support matters to you, this may not be the right choice.

Really great stay at Buenpas. Jon was an excellent host, with great communication and helpful recommendations. Check in was a breeze and room was exactly as expected. Location was top notch - minutes from the beach and the old town. Should I ever return to San Sebastian, I hope to stay here again.

We’ve found our perfect place to stay in San Sebas

This is our 8th visit to San Sebastián and we have finally found the ideal place to stay with an ideal location for all amenities. The owner Jon and his wife are amazing and really looked after us. Very Clean, really comfortable, Netflix tv, coffee station in lobby , what more can you ask for. I would definitely recommend here and we will both be returning 🍺

Shared bathrooms and no AC in rooms

The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean but it was really uncomfortable as there was no AC and it was a hot night. We needed to leave the window open because it was hot but then it is a very noisy street at night so we had a really bad nights sleep. Also you should know that bathrooms are shared for this room.

Logement idéal !

Nous avions la chambre avec salle de bain et wc privée. Un accueil au petit soin et un coin petit déjeuner cosy. La chambre est propre et spacieuse ( 2 adultes et 1 adolescent) Environnement calme et proche de tout ! Nous recommandons la pension buenpas.

Excelente custo benefício

Excelente localização, perto de tudo, estacionamento pago muito próximo. O único porém foi a porta do banheiro que era de correr e não estava muito bem encaixada, caindo no pé da minha amiga. Na hora achamos que tinha quebrado dois dedos, mas por sorte só fez uma luxação. Proprietário foi muito atencioso. A rua está em obras, mas não atrapalhou em nada.

バスク鉄道で到着時は駅から歩ける距離でした。旧市街のレストランにも徒歩圏で立地はいいです。とても清潔かつ広い部屋でとても居心地がよかったです。早めの到着でしたがスタッフの対応はとてもよく、丁寧な説明やサービスで安心して滞在できました。カードキーを渡されて、夜は無人になるようです。コーヒー紅茶とリンゴバナナはフリーでいてでも取れるようになっていました。とてもいいホテルです。

Très beau séjour

Très beau séjour. Hôte très gentil et serviable. L’hôtel est extrêmement propre, même les sales de bains communes étaient super propre. Bien situé pour un court séjour.
