This was my retreat experience and was delighted by the place. I see that EXPEDIA rates it at 3 1/2 star but would consider this place much higher. The place is very new and decorated in a calm, simple but yet stylish way. The setting on the side of the mountain offers stunning views and the sound of the forest is so peaceful. I was blown away by the attention of the employees, they are genuine and kind. If you are concern about the semi/raw diet...don't be!! I was so surprise on how good...

I loved this private property and the owners of the property Lazara & Alex. We rented the deluxe bungalow. It was such a BEAUTIFUL view of the mountains, the pool was so relaxing and it was awesome to enjoy 24hr access to the pool and go night swimming. The construction of the walkway, lights, stairs and the place we stayed was all so elegant and beautiful. The property was very clean, big and spacious. It was also a gated community that we were able to open and close as we needed (which made us...

The grounds are beautiful with different types of fruit trees, lovely veranda to enjoy the view of the mountains. We especially love the sisters who run the place. They are quite attentive, making sure we were comfortable. We definitely would recommend this lovely bed&breakfast

The hosts Jan and Avtar gave me such a warm and inviting welcome! My original flight was cancelled, so I arrived very late at night to the property. At night you can see the stars so incredibly clear from the pool or from your rooms balcony. Waking up in the morning in this very lush oasis in the city of Atenas was so peaceful. I enjoyed the nature and seclusion, while being close to everything I wanted to explore. My room was cozy and very comfortable with a hammock outside. The best part was...

Our 1st time in Costa Rica for a family wedding. Stayed here because it was only 20 minutes from the Int’l Airport after a long day of travel and another day of driving ahead. Margarita is an excellent hostess/owner who was very helpful and kind. Her property is “boho-chique” with rescue dogs that act as ambassadors and chickens that lay eggs for guests to dine on at breakfast; which was excellent, fresh and included with the stay. The tower & view of the volcano was spectacular, pool was nice &...

I have been here for a month and will be happily extending my stay another month.
Ronald and his wife have been exemplary hosts! She is a charming lady who makes delicious breakfasts and does my laundry as necessary for a very reasonable rate.
Ronald goes out of his way to make his guests stay a memorable experience. He is willing to drive his guests just about anywhere in the greater San Jose area. I used this service for the first few days until I rented a car. In fact he drove me to the car...

Just stayed here one night before flight out next morning. Seems pleasant, wish we could have enjoyed the pool.
Had dinner and breakfast . Dinner was good, a little pricier than we found at most other restaurants in CR. Breakfast was included, few selections of some meats, scrambled eggs, fruit, toast and juices and coffee and teas.

Great experience ! Dave ,Marsha, Elezar and the staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable ,and everything was taken care of. They arranged a tour, massage, taxi service, meal delivery, and were always there with any questions I had.
Fresh breakfasts using local ingredients were delicious. I had a nice room near the pool and hot tub, which were always clean and available. Very nice landscaping with palm trees ,flowers, and plants. Being next to the canyon is nice, the property...

I stumbled upon Chayote Lodge during my search of hotels in Costa Rica. I was looking for a place to stay that was unique and memorable as well as in a beautiful setting away from the tourist craziness and congestion. I am so happy I booked Chayote Lodge!! From initially booking my hotel the email communication was prompt and friendly. I arranged transportation through Chayote Lodge to meet me once I arrived at the SJO airport to take me to Chayote and the driver was waiting for me, he was so...

Nice place, convenient Rooms with fridge, coffemaker, microwave, kitchenet and all the things necessary for cooking.
Recomendation: if you have a car it can be easier 'cause you have several supermarkets and restaurants near there ( 2 km or less) but if; not try to have some things to cook before due to by walking/uber/bus could be complicated.
The rest of the things are OK, nice pool some weekend

so I loved this hotel the first few nights. But there is a lot of stuff that I need to warn others. There's nothing to do here besides a few nature walks. There is a lovely fireplace in each cabin and the cabins are lovely but there is a very very long and bumpy ride to get to the villa. I literally cringe thinking about this 45 minute road just to get access to the property. The service is great, the food is great but it's all very VERY expensive. If you do not have a car, transportation...
