"I absolutely loved my stay at Terrazas. The location is fantastic, close to a ton of restaurants and bars, and practically across the street from the beach. The staff is super welcoming and kind, and they even surprised me with dessert for my birthday. The rooms were very comfortable and the AC worked very well, as did the hot water for a shower. I also really enjoyed the toiletries; everything was top notch. I highly recommend. "

"Beautiful secluded garden and spa just as pictured. The service from host and hostess were top notch. Breakfast menu was limited but very enjoyable. This place was covered in greenery and beautiful photo ops, 10/10 would recommend!"

"The location on playa negra is amazing, but it was the staff that really made Banana Azul shine! Genesis, Laura, and Oscar, and the rest of the crew were always happy to help us, and the deep tissue beach massage from Michelle was perfect! We would certainly return to Banana Azul!"

I loved the girly aesthetic and it was very clean. I was a bit taken aback from the surrounding area, but apart from that I felt really safe. 10/10 I’m considering to come back again."

"We enjoyed our very short stay at La Bonita Lodge. Unfortunately the airline lost our luggage so we spent most of our day in San Jose buying clothes before heading down to Puerto Viejo. We arrived late but had a nice dinner at Banana Azul and then were able to use the easy to follow directions to gain access to the property and our room. The room was spotless and welcoming. We weren't able to park our car in the lot as it was full but after contacting the host we were told it was fine to park on the other side of the lodge. Communication was fantastic with the staff and I really wish we had been able to enjoy the property during the day as it was beautiful and the pool was very inviting."

"Umami was such a wonderful boutique hotel. The staff was so awesome and giving. The hotel itself was perfect for my solo trip. The middle of town and a short walk to the beach or several restaurants and markets. I especially liked the fact that you could interact with locals and not only tourists and it was only a tuk tuk ride away to really nice beaches further down the coast. So looking ready for my return to CR and will def be staying here!"

"The property is a mini animal sanctuary, with many agouti running around and sloths hanging in the trees. Many birds and frogs and even a kinkajou, although hard to spot. The hosts are very nice and helpful, Marise will make sure you and comfortable and Pierre will tell you all about the wildlife. The room is clean and comfortable, although there is no AC, so keep that in mind. It is walkable to Cahuita although a couple more min out of the way than some of the other hotels, wasn’t a problem to walk to the beach, park or city though. Overall safe, comfortable, and friendly, I would recommend a stay here especially if you want easy access to sloths and wildlife out your front door"
