H4 Hotel Hamburg-Bergedorf

"Overall on a 16 day stay with the H4 being close to where I needed to be i was happy. Unfortunately during a 16 day stay things happen and they did all brought to receptions attention. The room was fine but the bathroom was below standard and when having a shower the bathroom flooded, I had to improvise a solution myself which got me by ok. Surely this sort of problem was already known by the hotel. The bathroom was sub standard and also had mold clearly visible. My room was on a every 3rd day clean cycle unfortunately after 5 days not being cleaned I had to ask reception to intervene which they did then it was cleaned 2 days in a row and on the second clean my room door was left completely open after the cleaners had finisehd, not ajar but completely open, also reported to reception and totally unacceptable. Reception management did mention they would talk to the hotel manager and organise a refund, that has not happened yet. Breakfast at the H4 was great as always."

"The room were very modern. I was very surprised of how nice they looked after walking into the lobby and seeing the added ramp and the 2 worn out chairs I was like oh oh. But after going into the elevator room and getting into our room I was like NICE. Very nice and clean. The only issue is that the shower is a bit too small and when you have the windows open the skunk smell from that type of smoking cones in. So if you staying during the summer I do t know how you get some cool air into the room. Walls are very thin, we got neighbors on both sides on our last night, we stayed 5 nights, and you could hear them cough and I think somebody was smoking in the room next to our bed and somehow the smell came in our room, not much but enough for me to smell it even though the rooms are none smoking. There is nobody at the lobby so you do your own Check-in and you grab a key and activate it. The Hamburg/Harburg train station is right in front. The phone mall is right there and there is an Aldi's and EDEKA supermarket across the mall. Very convenient location. You will not hear the trains if you have the windows close. It has fridge, small stove that we did not know how to use and a microwave."

"Amway lovely to stay here. The breakfast buffet is beautiful, the staff is so accommodating and competent, and it is nicely decorated and sparkling clean. Onsite parking is also a big plus."

"Clean room, although older furnishings. Staff were nice and attentive. Lacking was coffee in the room and an iron. Also shared patio where people smoked outside our room so we had to close windows and no A/C so room was stuffy. Overall good stay and reasonable price."
