"We enjoyed our stay at the Maid's Head, both for its well-appointed rooms and central location. We were a stone's throw from the cathedral, charming pubs, and restaurants, yet our room was blissfully quiet. My only complaint is that the website says the hotel offers "ample complimentary car parking on site," yet when we checked in, we were charged an additional £20. I expressed surprise at this, but as the reception clerk didn't yield, I figured I'd been mistaken. This took a bit of the shine off our otherwise pleasant stay. "

"Very comfortable stay and good breakfast We were not aware that because of the layout of the building there was no lift to our room. Staff helpful particularly James in the restaurant / bar."
