"Strange set out of a hotel, clean decent sized rooms. Great views on a clear day. All amenities available. Gòod location for trams trains into city. For the price i would say a very good deal, 1 issue would say is the mattress well worn certainly not too comfy canbfeel most springs"

"This was my third stay at the Ascott and I will keep coming back whenever I visit my family in Manchester. As an American I very much appreciate the things that make it different from the big hotel chains. It is quiet, it is personal, it is comfortable and to me “very British” which is a good thing. The rooms are all different in style and decor. They are comfortable tho and have all the features and amenities described. The overall feel of the hotel is that of a large comfortable home, not the cookie cutter institutional style of hotel chains. Breakfast is available and served in either a sunny breakfast nook or a larger sitting room. There are several menu choices but I always have the English Breakfast - which is tasty and a satisfying way to start the day. The inn keeper and his team are friendly and welcoming. A few things to keep in mind. Pay attention to the check in hours- it’s a small inn so make sure you check in during the hours noted. Once you have your keys you can come and go as you please. There is off street parking but don’t hog the space - be respectful of the guests who will need to squeeze in after you. If you do want breakfast, reserve it when you make your room reservation - they plan and purchase accordingly so have little flexibility for last minute changes. If you are planning to have a noisy gathering during your stay, you should look elsewhere - this is a place for a quiet rest to prepare for a busy day!"

"I booked for one night months in advance, paid and received confirmation. On the way to the property as I hadn't heard the details of how to access the property, I contacted the host and was told that he didn't realise there was a booking and that it wasn't available (apparently it was being refurbished). I was left to find alternative accommodation at the last minute which was more expensive and very inconvenient. The host refunded me his part of the cost, but I haven't been refunded Vrbo's charges despite contacting them to complain. They passed the buck to the host and claimed it wasn't anything to do with them. I would like my money back from Vrbo and some compensation because I am out of pocket for their costs and for the additional costs of the alternative accommodation."

"We booked to stay in this apartment. Booking fee was taken but no check in details were provided. Unable to access building on arrival.Multiple attempts made to contact host who did not respond. Called customer service who hung up on us after 11mins of trying to contact the host themselves. No call back received to resolve problem. Now in process of applying for full refund.DO NOT BOOK TO STAY HERE!"
