I booked for one night months in advance, paid and received confirmation. On the way to the property as I hadn't heard the details of how to access the property, I contacted the host and was told that he didn't realise there was a booking and that it wasn't available (apparently it was being refurbished). I was left to find alternative accommodation at the last minute which was more expensive and very inconvenient. The host refunded me his part of the cost, but I haven't been refunded Vrbo's charges despite contacting them to complain. They passed the buck to the host and claimed it wasn't anything to do with them. I would like my money back from Vrbo and some compensation because I am out of pocket for their costs and for the additional costs of the alternative accommodation.
