"We are so lucky to have found Maison Groleau in Mombrier which was the perfect place for my daughter and I to stay for a couple of nights while preparing for her forthcoming marriage in Bordeaux. The house is absolutely beautiful-decorated and furnished in a very modern, stylish way,set amongst the vines with stunning views everywhere, extremely comfortable bedrooms, delicious freshly prepared breakfasts which changed each day and the option of enjoying a fabulous gourmet dinner at the house on...
"The ‘family’ room has no air conditioning. The upstairs rooms apparently do. We visited during some of the hottest days of the period and were provided one small fan. No inquiry by staff/owners about whether room was tolerable given known high temperatures. The folks that run the place were on property only in morning during our stay, no one on property in evening/night during that period (you call and leave a phone message if you have an issue). Property grounds very run down, surrounding town...
"A beautiful and tranquil part of the country. The hospitality was superb and nothing was too much trouble. A delightful find and one we will not forget. "
"Great stay. Recommend this hotel if you are traveling to the left bank. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Great breakfast in a beautiful room. They also own the winery down the road 3 meters and can arrange a 35 euro tour and wine tasting. Pierre was our guide and gave us a fantastic tour. "
"The pool was lovely .
There are several restaurants within easy walking distance.
Disliked the number of rules at the property -for instance you cannot have your own food and drinks on terrace/ in room yet they sell no food and only a minimal drink selection.
The shower needs to be hooked up as holding it in your hand to shower in 2022 really isn’t acceptable .
Rooms need updating . "
"Drove for 10 hours when we got there we were told everything shuts at 8:30 had to drive if you needed food went to the toilet in reception it was filthy. Even though we paid for the stay we turn round got in the car and left "
"Pascale, the owner, was incredibly helpful and friendly. She helped with dinner reservations and information about the area. Breakfast was made to order in a darling dining room. The entire property was charming nestled next to a vineyard. On-site parking and a lovely garden were a bonus. I would highly recommend staying here if you are interested in the Medoc area,

"Room is wonderful. Maybe the best mattress is all of France! Great dinner in the Brasserie. The hotel is very tired and needs an update, but the room and restaurant are really great."
"Amazing family run boutique hotel, super welcoming. Fantastic room, fantastic pool. The village is very sleepy but that is part of the charm. We would love to come back. "
"We travelled 4 weeks through France.
From Paris to St Tropez and back to Bordeaux and stayed at 8 hotels (all 5Star) This was our favourite by far. The personal touches, the amazing staff and the Chateau itself are all impeccable. Antony without prompting arranged our dinner and lunches as well as wine tasting locally. Nothing was too difficult and everyone from breakfast service to evening drink service couldn’t be more delightful. This will be our first stop on our next trip. "
