Château de la Roche Courbon is a large château, developed from an earlier castle, in the Charente-Maritime département of France. It is in the commune of Saint-Porchaire between Saintes and Rochefort. Its name is just as frequently written Château de la Rochecourbon. The château is privately owned, and classified as an historic monument. The garden is listed by the French Ministry of Culture as one of the Notable Gardens of France.

A castle was built around 1475 by Jehan de Latour, on site which had been inhabited since prehistoric times. In the 17th century, the Courbon family, which had occupied the castle for two centuries, transformed it into a more comfortable residence. More alterations were made in the 18th century, but it was eventually sold in 1817 and then abandoned. It was purchased in 1920 by Paul Chénereau, who restored the château and its gardens. The château is still owned and inhabited by his descendants.

Nice new building.

"Very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Ideal for overnight stay, staff very polite and helpful. New building 2023 modern decor excellent bathroom with large shower head. Window in bedroom was large but no way to keep it open just a little for fresh air. Would stay again and recommend it to others."

"We really liked the sites as it was convenient to get to La Rochelle and Rochefort. Fouras is a great town with lots going on; nice selection of restaurants. The pool was nice but people were not following the rules of no vaping aloud (maybe more/clearer signs or staff mentioning it to visitors would help). The bathroom was a bit smelly at the start but with ventilation that improved (there were no shelves in the shower area so that was not practical). We had plenty of towels and it was great that the linen was provided (and beds made before our arrival). very straightforward checking and helpful staff at reception. The nearby beach is covered in shells and not sands; it'd be nice if that was mentioned in the site's description as it is misleading to say the beach is 300m away (not really a beach to go to with children for example). Overall, we had a great stay and recommend the site."
