"Enjoyed my stay in Caen: what a wonderful place to visit. And the Campanile Caen Centre - Gare hotel was a great place to stay. Although the room was small it was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was lovely, recently renovated it seemed, with a generously sized shower. The staff were extremely helpful, and the hotel was an easy walk from the railway station and the centre of town. "

"Best Western Royal Hotel was a superb place for our stay in Caen. The facility itself was well designed, very clean and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was well prepared and prompt. There are several restaurants with walking distance. The staff were fluent in English which was especially helpful for us. We would definitely stay there again."

"We knew that reception closed at 21.00 and we would not arrive before 23.00 so we followed the instructions to contact the hotel. Firstly the hotel never replied through the messaging service so I telephoned and despite language difficulties was given a code for the machine outside the hotel to issue a door key. On arrival the machine was not working the tel number was not answered. Horrible, we were tired and cold with no way to get into a room. Another tel number was displayed on the machine and eventually we were let in and given a key. Overall a horrible experience so stressful believing that we might have to look for a hotel so late when we were so tired. Never again"
