"I was there for a conference so convenient to stay there. Comfortable rooms with unusual design features. Just stays quirky rather than kitsch. The red light in the bathroom (pretending to be a darkroom) is amusing and useful at night to avoid fully waking up or disturbing any other sleeping occupants. Helpful staff. I did not eat in the restaurant but the conference catering was good. Not cheap but reasonable for a city centre hotel. Next to the Botanical Gardens and short safe walk to the tourist areas. The other direction looked a bit rough but no problems walking in daylight."
