"I booked 1 room in Hotel Sonnenhof on 16th February, via Hotels.com, for a stay commencing on 28th May. Hotel sent me a message on 27th May that I was not in Hotel Sonnenhof in Timelkam, but at an apartment in Lenzing, 4.5km further away. No pre-warning was given, no rationale for the change in location, no option to cancel or reduction in rate was offered. I was very upset when I received the message on 27th May (the day before I was due to stay at the hotel). It was really inconvenient to be in a different location from my friend, and required that I drive back and forth from Timelkam to Lenzing multiple times. As I was only informed the day before the stay was due to start, I had no option to cancel and rebook elsewhere as nothing else was available. In addition, the apartment was in a poor location, not of a good quality, and the kitchen crockery was incomplete. The hotel reception was very slow to respond to communication, and only available in the mornings. Do not stay here - very poor service."

"Extraordinary hotel, like staying in a 18 century palace with modern conveniences. Building originally built as monastery in the 8 century. Beautiful lake town, but the hotel alone is worth the trip. All hotel staff were wonderful. Highly recommended."

"The two girls that helped me out were extremely helpful and kind. One was a bit newer, the other had been there a while. They went out of their way to let me in the gym until they closed, as well as helped me out with tea, and recommendation. I didn’t have wifi in my room and they did their best to get the wifi situated in a way that helped me. I didn’t end up getting better signal, but it was the effort on their part that showed me they were willing to go above and beyond. Close trip to Hallstatt, and Bad Ischl itself was beautiful. Wish there were more open food options but if you look hard enough or ask for recommendations you can find a couple good ones. Great location right by the water, restaurant had a fantastic steak, and breakfast buffet was also very good. Will return one day."

"The apartment was situated in Mondsee, 20mins by car east of Salzburg. A secure underground car park is included, so ideal if renting a car.Lounge/dining area is comfortable, stereo, wifi, Smart TV (netflix access but you'll need a firestick or similar to get Amazon).Kitchenette is small for a family, but well equipped with hob, kettle, oven, dishwasher and fridge, (no microwave). 2 coffee machines for either tassimo pods or standard filter paper. Pans crockery/cutlery provided.Upstairs bedrooms beautifully clean, fresh linen and plenty of storage. Bedroom walls are very thin however and you can hear every sound from the lounge - you wouldn't be able to watch tv in the evening with younger kids asleep upstairs. The hotel is next to St Michael's church, and yes the bells do ring 24hrs a day, but we actually quite liked it after a day or so. Earplugs seemed to be fine at night if it bothered you. Good cafe and restaurant options right outside the hotel. We particularly liked one of the restaurants down by the lake.Fantastic walks up on the hillside above the lake. Salzburg easily accessible via car along the A1 highway.Overall, a very peaceful and relaxing location, thanks to our host Silvia who did a great job providing travel and access instructions.Kitchen is "
