"We loved the location and felt very much at home in a comfortable home. Particularly liked the armchair in the window overlooking the reservoir. We were walking 7 “Ethels” in the Dark Peak and all were easily accessible from Martha’s Cottage so ideal for our purposes. Pie Night at the Pickled Pheasant was also a nice discovery!"

Friendly owners on hand for any issues or queries. Easily sleeps 8 (2 double and 2 twin room) and has two lovely hot showers. Plenty space for families!"

"Great base to explore the Peak District, Nice clean and well maintained property on a farm with a friendly peacock that comes to the back door each morning for breakfast. The farm owners gave us a warm welcome and some chocolate biscuits on arrival. We will definitely be booking again."

"Really great 4 night stay here for a work trip. Flat was lovely and clean other than whoever washed up last didn't do a great job as some of the plates were a bit dirty. Flat is in a perfect location with a supermarket a 10 second walk away and surrounded by restaurants. Also a 2 minute walk to some lovely gardens. Would definitely recommend."

"Lovely cosy cottage with a fantastic view. It was quite a walk to the nearest pub but very close to lovely walks for the dog. We were staying over Christmas so visiting family on most of the days but able to spend a couple of evenings in the cottage. John and Vicky were very keen that we had all the things we needed for our stay, and were able to tell us about the cottage and the local area. A lovely location even in winter - it must be even better in spring/summer. Sadly we had chosen the cottage because a hot tub was advertised as it would have helped with the children. "This cottage is damp and mould is present in all rooms except living room. Very, very basic cottage with decor reminiscent of the 1970s. Chipboard wallpaper and anaglypta everywhere which has been painted white so many times it is peeling and brittle. Cooker, fridge and washing machine all very rusted with the damp. "We booked lavender cottage for 2 nights whist visiting family. We are a family for 3 adults and 2 children. Communication with the owner was brilliant, he was very helpful. Cottage was lovely and clean. Had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Just a heads up if you have very young children or mobility issues, the stairs are quite steep. We enjoyed our stay very much and will be booking again sometime. Thanks for everything."
