"Stayed at the Holiday Inn Basildon while attending a wedding at Cromwell Manor, which was only about a 10-minute drive away, making it a really convenient location. The hotel has a large car park, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning was a big plus. Breakfast was decent with a good selection, and all the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that the corridor had a bit of an unpleasant smell, but thankfully it didn’t affect the room itself....

"The bathroom was dirty, clearly had not been cleaned properly in some time, there was hair all over the floor, dirt build up around the shower tray and shower itself. Windows were also very dirty. The breakfast bag is not worth it as it’s not ready to go you have to wait 10mins for the hot part!"

"The room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable, although the room was small, and if you ended up stuck inside, you’d quickly become claustrophobic. Likewise, the picture used to advertise the hotel is not a picture of any public or restaurant space in the hotel building, but a picture of the pub/restaurant 150 feet away. There is no public space you can hang out in within the hotel building. The price could not be beat, however. The fan for the bathroom was totally ineffective and...
