"Staff was very friendly and quite helpful, especially regarding the logistics of getting to Mackinac Island. The dining was quite good. Room was clean, and we had a wonderful view of the lake."

"Amazing place to stay. It is a hike from Main Street but well worth it. This place would be amazing for romantic getaways and our family of six loved it too. Fires with s’mores, soccer, bags, ladder ball, and so much ch more to do. The pizza was amazing and fitness center was clean. We will be back for sure!!!"

Lake View Hotel

"One of my favorite hotels on the island. Rooms are modernized (AC) and clean while still maintaining that Mackinac Island charm. A true indoor pool and hot tub is the best part though. You don’t have to walk outside to get to a pool building like at other hotels who say they have an indoor pool. The only two areas of improvement for me would be 1) in this age of electronic payment, there isn’t a good way to tip the porter. This made for some awkward moments, and ultimately a check in desk employee with venmo allowed me to get cash from them to tip the porter. It would have been easier to just bill it to my room or something. I don’t have a good solution for this, but the venmo cash-out is an intermediate solution at best. 2) They used to have an on site restaurant that served breakfast for a fee, but that is no longer the case. Good news is there are plenty of breakfast options on main street to walk to, but on site can sometimes be more convenient, especially on checkout day."

Lockview Motel

"Great location in historic downtown Sault Ste. Marie. Motel has been reasonably modernized and updated. However, the bedding was worn and uncomfortable. The pillows were long past their prime and very uncomfortable. No blanket on the bed--just a thin worn bedspread and an old discolored bedsheet. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable. The portable room air conditioner is installed above the bed in a hole in the wall which was not well-sealed. Cold air from outside blew down onto the bed all night. I had to put a sweatshirt on to stay warm as a result of the drafts and lack of a blanket."

6/10 Okay

"Going thru major renovation. Our building was complete. But on our 2nd day there they had people staying upstairs and next door when more than half the rooms were empty. We heard the people above us. Food was OK. Asked for 1-2 chairs and we never received them. Asked for 2nd remote for 2nd TV and got it the next day."
