"Just had a great stay at the Derwentwater Hotel and great staff and service. In particular a huge thanks to Ronnie and Amy who went out of their way to take time and assist us getting to a local wedding when all other taxi firms were unavailable due to storms and road closures.. Having excellent staff and friendly check in made the stay enjoyable and we will be returning to the hotel again. Fully recommend this hotel. Thanks all. "

"Excellent hotel, nothing to complain about. Stayed here to go to scafell pike which was around 25 minutes drive away. Also a beach around 10 minutes drive away. Hotel has a large car park, great outdoor space to sit as well. Only down side was we went to pool room and it was locked, got the staff to open it and got change for the table from the bar. Just as we were going to start playing noticed one cue was broken in half and the other the tip was missing. Dart board not in the best condition. So we left the room. Breakfast was great and served large portions, only down side was the next day tried the pancakes and those were only two litter ones you get. Also the food came out really fast once ordered. Overall great experience and would recommend to others. Nice, clean and friendly happy staff. "

"It was a really pleasant stay all staff was so lovely, everything was lovely and relaxing i would most definitely stay again, shame the weather let us down a bit but still had a great stay. The only thing that was missing a mirror in the room to get ready hair etc."

"We had the most amazing stay at The Pheasant Inn. Stuart, Alison, Christine & all the staff made our week away perfect. Nothing was too much trouble & everyone was so friendly. The food was beautiful & piping hot just as we like it. We are definitely going to return to the Lake District & we will definitely be staying at The Pheasant Inn. "Fantastic staff, excellent breakfast, super parking, very clean modern room, free WiFi, Netflix and prime TV, good bed, in room tea & coffee with biscuits, to take good to great would be the addition of a blackout blind to the room window & a shelf / surface in the ensuite to put toiletries on."

"I booked a double bedded room with a trundle bed (for a child), but there was no such bed in the room allocated me. This was sorted out while we ordered dinner and we were moved to a different (better) room. Very friendly staff and great food evening and breakfast."
