"The staff were excellent, the hotel was very comfortable and the food at both breakfast and dinner was very good. We were travelling with 2 young children and the staff could not do enough. "

"The room itself was impressive and very comfortable. However, the soundproofing wasn’t great — we were woken at 5am by the room above having a shower; it genuinely sounded so close it felt like the water was coming through the ceiling! It may not be an issue for everyone, but there were a lot of stairs and the room wasn’t located in the main hotel building. This meant going outside to access the bar and restaurant, and unfortunately getting wet in the process. I would have preferred the option of staying in the main part of the hotel. Breakfast was adequate, although I was given a decaf coffee instead of the tea I had ordered. On a positive note, the view of the castle was absolutely amazing and really made up for the inconveniences. The spa facilities were good, although we weren’t provided with robes in he room whereas other guests appeared to have them, which was slightly disappointing."

"A warm welcome from Vijay who seems to pop up everywhere with a warm smile and a cheery welcome. Fourth time I have been in the same room. It was warm, well appointed and with expected little extras. Breakfast was cooked to order and plentiful. The hotel has character and an old world charm to it that works. "
