The welcome here couldn't have been more warm, it is a lovely little boutique hotel on the register of historic hotels in Norway. It's a bit of a walk uphill from the train station, but well signposted and you get a taste of the sights of Roros on the way. There are two cosy lounges that just feel like you are at home in your own livingroom, with a fireplace in one and free tea/coffee and cookies. I don't usually use hotel lounges but I was very comfortable in this one, reading and doing a bit of knitting. The room was spacious and attractive, with a view over part of the town. Breakfast is a small buffet, a bit crowded with residents due to limited space and there was no dedicated gluten free area, but I got to try brown cheese for the first time. Staff were happy to store my bag both before check-in, and after check-out, and even let me wait for my train in their comfy lounge. A nice experience and I enjoyed looking around Roros. The guesthouse does not provide evening meals so you can walk down into town to one of the restaurants there.

This is a lovely hotel with a wonderful staff and in an excellent location. It is easy walking distance from the train station and right off the main shopping and restaurants. It is also near the museum which is a must-see. The bottom floor holds a surprise; I won’t ruin it for you and you will have to see for yourself!

A first class Hotel with very friendly host. the timber wall building was from 1860, with cozy interior and a huge open fire place ' Peis' in the dining room. still the buildings are top modern with all facilities and each room has its own history. I want to return to this place winter time. Can be highly recommended!

A small and very cozy hotel with very friendly and service-minded staff. The breakfast was excellent, and the lounge next to the reception is great with homemade cakes or freshly made waffles. Free parking was a bonus!

Quaint stay in the centre of tiny Røros

It is my 2nd time staying at your hotel. It is very quaint and cosy being a 17th century converted cottage. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious and had a good selection.

We had a reservation at a sister-property the "Erzscheidergarden". Reservation was made through Expedia. When we got there the Erzscheidergarden was locked up for the season. It was raining, cold and miserable and very difficult to get anyone at the reference number on the door. Of course, Expedia (or Expedia's computers) really doesn't care and no one at the hotel had the courtesy to contact us. We eventually reached someone at the Roros Hotell, it's sister property. We stayed there instead. Maia, the front desk person was a delight and took very good care of us. The room at the Roros Hotell was not luxurious but was very good. Breakfast was excellent and the staff was terrific!
