"I looked at lots of pet-friendly places before I stumbled upon this wonderful spot! The location is so peaceful, it’s a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I’m definitely planning to book it again when I’m back in Maine, especially since my fur-baby is welcome!"

"We loved our stay in this large, lake front home! The view of Gardner Lake is lovely and the house is beautifully decorated. My husband and I were visiting family nearby and we comfortably hosted our son, his wife and their two children for two nights. We enjoyed being in a quiet area and being surrounded by nature. However, it's only a 15 minute drive into Machias which has a nice grocery store, a few good restaurants and a Walgreens. Lucas was a very kind and responsive host. We hope to return to this property next year!!"

"Rod and Lucile were absolutely wonderful hosts. They met us at their charming house, showed us around and gave us suggestions as to where to eat and places to visit. I've lived in Maine for nearly forty years: their place, and their hospitality, hearken to an earlier era, one that prizes warmth, friendliness, and an appreciation of the natural world. Their home is lovely, furnished with antiques and vintage pieces, very welcoming and with incredible views out to the water, just steps from their door. A fire in the granite fireplace was a treat on a chilly night. The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals when we didn't feel like venturing out to the diner a few miles up the road, or restaurants in nearby Milbridge. Bed was extremely comfortable, and there are many places to cozy up and read indoors, and a trail to walk around outside. The house is ideally located for exploring downeast — we went up to Machias one day, went antiquing in nearby Cherryfield, and visited the beautiful sand beach at Roque Bluffs. This is an idyllic place for a Maine getaway — we plan to come back as soon as we can."

"Super fun house and spot. The views were amazing, sunsets, peaceful and quiet. This is a rustic seasonal home but we really loved it. A little chilly till we found some more blankets. There is a propane fireplace which heats it up quickly but I would not leave that on overnight. The second bedroom is in a separate little studio and so you need to go outside to go to the cottage to use the bathroom. Also we did not notice re the tap water not potable and we used for coffee and tea :) so definitely need to bring drinking water. We loved this place!"

"We enjoyed using the cabin to explore the bold coast. It would easily handle a bigger group than the four that we had. The kitchen had more and better equipment than any house we have rented. I also enjoyed watching the sun rise and set over the water. The last morning, I got to watch a lobster boat pulling pots from the deck."
