Your R (h) ome on Vatican's Edge! Minimal design and quiet next to the Vatican

Unique, for lovers of art, the house is opposite the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, a few steps from Castel Sant'Angelo, in the oldest part of central Rome. A study of Roman architects oversaw the redesign in 2016, playing in its own way the "genius loci" Capitoline.
The house is designed for 4/6 people. E 'consists of two large double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and large living room with 2 sofa beds. A wide, panoramic terrace allows you to lunch or dinner overlooking the city.
The house is on the second floor, with elevator, has an area of ​​90 square meters plus 25 square meters of terrace. The spacious lounge has two comfortable sofas and an ancient "refectory" of 2.9 meters on which to dine, the characteristic solid walnut table where the brothers used their meals in silence.
The house is equipped with air conditioning, tv, dvd player, hi-fi, wi-fi and a fully equipped kitchen, from the washing machine to dishwasher.
Vatican's edge ... we are at the gates of St. Peter! From Piazza Navona to the Pantheon, Campo de 'Fiori at the Colosseum, the Roman Forum Castel Sant'Angelo is all accessible by walking.
The area provides important shopping streets, excellent restaurants and trendy bars. The house is within walking distance to metro and bus stops that will easily connect with all the major tourist destinations of Rome. Besides supermarket and shops, the neighborhood offers a nice local market with fresh products of all kinds.
The municipality of Rome asks for the payment of a tourist tax of 3.5 euros per person per day, for guests over 10 years, to be paid directly to the owner at check in, in addition to the sum of 50 euros for cleaning.

Fabulous!

Lovely apartment very spacious with a wonderful outside space. Quiet location very close to the Vatican. Adriano was very helpful we will definitely stay again.

Vatican walls

Space was pretty accurate. Owner was great- very welcoming and kind. In the back of the Vatican City walls so you do need to taxi a lot if you don’t want to walk 8-12 miles a day to explore. We had no problem walking though. Our WiFi didn’t work the entire 7 nights we were there, bummer for when we wanted to have downtime. Made it Hard for planning a lot of our adventures. He refunded me some money for it. Nearest cafe about 6 minute walk, nothing is right outside the apartment. A few changes I’d make is adding more pillows (we only had 1 per person) and more toiletries (we had to shop for toilet paper). All in all- great vacation!!

Great views!

Wonderful views over Rome, with spacious balconies, apartment as described. Great communicative host Adriano. Bus route outside door and short walk to another, 10 minute walk to Metro. Great place if you don’t mind being out a bit, which we didn't.

Perfect Area, but a busy street is close by

The appartment is nicely located, right around Vatican City, in walking distance to bus and metro. The area is lively with lits of fine places for breakfast and dinner. The only downside is that it is at a vrey busy through-street with lots of traffic. So we had to buy oropax to cancel the noise from the street. With this tweak the stay was a pleasure.

Trip of a lifetime

We ended out two week trip at this beautiful property. They met us at the property, welcomed us with wine and homemade chocolate cake. The property was actually better than it is pictured. We all would recommend it at anyone staying in Rome.

The location was definitely close to the Vatican, steps away. The accommodation was beautiful, with a beautiful lanai to escape the sun and enjoy the view. The host made our stay by leaving a tasty treat, upon arrival. I highly recommend this place. Did wish they had a microwave and bigger ironing board. The heat wave caused us to not want to venture out sometimes.

Beautiful and comfortable home in Rome

My partner, 18 year old niece and I all stayed for a week in this lovely and comfortable home. It is across the street from the Vatican walls, near the top of the hill that the Vatican is on. The hosts were wonderful, and helped us get private transportation from the airport. The house itself is very nice, very spacious, and uniquely decorated. Everything in the house (A/C, bathrooms, etc.) worked well, as did the kitchen, in which we cooked a number of meals. One of the showers is the “standard” small European size, but doable (though we would’ve preferred an enclosure around it rather than a shower curtain, as the bathroom got quite wet with its use). The balcony, which wraps around, was a very nice feature, and also useful for drying clothes. The only downside for us was that it was a 15 minute walk, up or down a significant hill with a number of steps, to get to public transportation, a grocery store, or the Vatican. Most of the time that wouldn’t be too difficult, but with the extreme heat and humidity when we stayed it was hard for us. Not a reason not to rent this lovely apartment, but something to be aware of if you have physical limitations. All in all, a really nice stay.

Großzügige Wohnung mit großer Terrasse

Die Wohnung passt gut für 4 Personen, Küche gut ausgestattet. Ein Bus hält vor der Haustür, zur U-Bahn sind es ca 10 min. Wir haben den täglichen Einkauf im Mercato Trionfale sehr genossen. Sehr netter Empfang vom Vermieter!

Our Wonderful Stay in Rome!!

This was an amazing place to stay. It was spotless, well equipped and in an excellent location for visiting Rome and all it has to offer. Spacious living room, bedrooms and a very nice view from the Terrace. Quiet and secure. Well equipped Kitchen. We arrive about 12 hours early due to a flight change and very fast responses from our hosts saved the day and we an entire extra day to explore Rome as they met us the property about 9am!! There was easy access to several methods of public transit. Based on an earlier review that was a bit critical that this wasn't provided, one thing I will point out is Google Maps!! The transit option was most helpful. For reference, there are two Bus routes to easily get out and return on - the 45 bus picks up and drops off just around the corner. This was our primary bus route and is joined with others to get anywhere downtown. It event met with one other bus that dropped us off right at the e-bike rental place at the Via Appia. Coming back at the end of the day this was a short walk back. The 49 bus goes around "the other side" of the Vatican and drops off right at the gate to the property and picks up virtually on the other side of the road! We didn't use as often as the 45 was easier to make other connections. Ride one stop on the 45 towards downtown and there was a great Pastry / Cafe for breakfast. The Cipro Metro stop was a short ten minute walk. We can HIGHLY recommend this location!

Lavish home with a beautiful View

The home was very nice. It was in a nice apartment complex. Very safe and secure. Adriano was very communicative from the start. Cristina made us a delicious chocolate cake and gifted us a bottle of wine. The stairs to get up to the home is long so make sure you carry light I like us. The views and security made up for it. Adriano even arranged for a taxi to pick us up at 2:30 am which we greatly appreciated! Thank you Adriano and Cristina. We loved your home and our experience in Rome!

Empfehlenswerte Unterkunft

War für eine Woche in den Herbstferien mit zwei Teenagern in Rom. Hatte die Unterkunft gebucht, so dass alle ein eigenes Zimmer zum Schlafen haben konnten (zwei Schlafzimmer + Wohnzimmer mit ausziehbarem Futonbett) und trotzdem noch ein Sofa im Wohnzimmer. Die Wohnung war für uns drei sehr geräumig, mit überdachtem Balkon mit Weitblick. Fühlten uns immer sicher. Es ist Netflix vorhanden und eine Stereoanlage mit Bluetooth (bei Teenagern ein Pluspunkt). Die Küche ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber alles funktionierte und es war genug an Geschirr, Töpfen etc. vorhanden, was man so braucht, auch Kaffee und eine Grundausstattung an Gewürzen, Öl, Essig. Ein sehr leckerer Schokokuchen mit Trauben und eine Flasche Wein hat uns empfangen (habe ich dann über die Abende alleine getrunken ;-)). Sehr nette Vermieter - Danke, dass das kaputte Weinglas und die Fernbedienung kein Problem waren. Wir waren alle sehr zufrieden. Wenn wir wieder nach Rom kommen sollten, schauen wir als erstes ob diese Wohnung verfügbar ist. Zwei Tipps: 1. Hausschuhe mitbringen 2. es lohnt sich der etwas weiter entfernte Supermarkt gegenüber dem Eingang der Vatikanischen Museen, gut sortiert, auch mit Frischetheke, und wenn man auf dem Rückweg gleich an der ersten Kreuzung den Weg hoch zur Vatikanischen Mauer einschlägt spart man sich die Treppen, die je näher zur Wohnung immer höher und steiler werden.

Nice place

We enjoyed being able to open all the windows and doors. I didn’t realize we were on the backside of the Vatican but it was still and easy walk there. The master shower is very small but we were able to make it work. Overall we had a good stay.

Great place for family stay

Our family of four (mom, dad and two young adult daughters) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this flat. The large terrace was a pleasure for dining al fresco and for relaxing after busy days sightseeing. The location is in a quiet area, but still very close to the Vatican. We had plenty of space for the four of us and everything we needed to prepare meals. The metro is about a 15 minute walk away. Grocery and restaurants are a quick walk away as well. The metro is necessary to reach some of the attractions such as The Colliseum, but it's an easy trip. We had great communication from the host who met us at the apartment and showed us all we needed to know for our stay. We also appreciated the lovely welcome gift of a cake, pears and wine. We appreciated being away from the very busy touristy areas and enjoyed the secure, peaceful and lovely building and surrounding areas.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft

Super Lage direkt am Vatikan, Museeum fußläufig in wenigen minuten erreichbar. Große Wohnung mit allem ausgestattet, großem Balkon um den tag gemütlich ausklingen zu lassen. Platz genug für eine Familie oder zwei Pärchen. Eine der duschen könnte etwas grösser sein, es läuft wasser neben dem duschvorhang ins bad, ein wenig hellhörig, super bequeme matratzen. Alles in allem eine Empfehlung wert, auch der transport vom Flughafen und zurück wird auf Wunsch problemlos für jeweils 50 euro organisiert.

At the Vatican's Edge and I mean Edge

Located across the street from the Vatican Wall at the top of the hill, this apartment has a tremendous view of the valley below from the extra large covered deck in the back. Adriano was an excellent host and always available to help out. The 49 bus line had a stop in front of the apartments and made commuting by public transportation very convenient. Full kitchen made cooking easy and helped save money by eating meals at home. Two large bedrooms and baths provided privacy for our group of three. Dining room table with monastery history was great location to each inside and study the valley when not enjoying the view and dining on the patio. We stayed for one month and I highly recommend this property and I thank Adriano and his wife for making our stay pleasant and memorable.

Schöne Aussicht

Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war sehr angenehm. Anfragen wurden sehr schnell beantwortet. Kleine Beanstandung wurde prompt behoben. Wohnung liegt direkt an einer Bushaltestelle. Somit ist die Innenstadt schnell zu erreichen. Den privaten Transfer vom Flughafen kann ich sehr empfehlen. Sehr komfortabel und günstig.

Schöne Ferienwohnung, gerne wieder!

Gute Vorbereitung, Check-In unkompliziert und persönlich, Fewo groß, schön, genialer Blick über die Dächer, uns hat nichts gefehlt. Für Anfang April noch etwas kühl, Hausschuhe hätten wir mitbringen können. Und als 2 Erwachsene unter einer großen Decke schlafen, klappt nicht immer, aber das sind Kleinigkeiten. Herzlichen Dank, wir kommen irgendwann wieder!

Good value

Nice cake and wine, insufficient amount of paper goods,requiring 25 minute walk to purchase toilet paper and paper towels. The towels were like sandpaper. There were a few safety issues. The balcony was lovely. An explanation of using the #49 bus , which is easy to use would have saved us much grief had we been given instructions on arrival.

All good!

The communication before, during and after our stay was excellent. We appreciated the warm welcome, accompanied by tasty homemade chocolate cake and wine too. The location of the apartment was top class as a base to explore Rome. It was extremely clean, quiet, well equipped with complimentary toiletries, tea/coffee/ water/ fruit.
