i enjoyed my stay at the Relais Santa Maria Maggiore. The location is good. It is walking distance to all Monti has to offer. The staff was very helpful, and my room was clean.
Nice place, a short walk from the Rome central train station. The room was small, but good enough for a couple of nights sleep. The staff were extremely helpful. There is no breakfast included, but many excellent places to eat right around the block. A perfect place for a few nights in Rome.
Really good place to stay. Front desk staff was really friendly and check-in /out was really fast and easy. Room was very nice and clean . Great location with restaurants nearby and like a 10min walk to termini station. Tiny elevator , but works fine.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Central location. Cleaner was good.
Room is too small. There was no microwave
Close to most attractions in Rome, we walked mostly. air conditioning worked well with the 40C temps. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. This is an old building that use to be part of Vatican City and was renovated into a hotel about 9 years ago.
Rooms are clean and our bed was made each day. In terms of amenities they only had luggage storage that’s it which was nice. They didn’t have anything else.
The location was great! Santa Maria Maggiore right down our little street! You can take the hop on hop off bus across the street from the church. The hotel was clean and roomy. The AC was a little colder than I wanted but no complaints bc at least we had AC! The staff was friendly and made sure to make my mom’s birthday extra special and delivered sparkling wine and 2 glasses of champagne with a birthday wish! We felt safe and cozy in this little boutique hotel! Will return again!
Room was small but worked for me. There is an elevator and ac. Hotel is relatively close to rome central station, i walked. There are also multiple bus lines to get you around Rome including the colosseum and Vatican. A few restaurants and stores around
The room was clean. Staff was very helpful. Has elevator access. The water was nice and hot. Beds are comfortable. I do not believe there is breakfast offered but there are restaurants and cafes nearby. The air conditioning works well. Nice budget room. Would indeed stay again. Only tip I can leave, do NOT go to the McDonald’s across from Roma Termini at night.
Great location near Metro Termini. Air conditioning, hot water and water pressure were excellent. It was clean and fairly quiet. Friendly and helpful staff.
We were close to everything. We walked everywhere, the staff was able to direct us to the train station when walking was going to be too far. The air conditioning was heavenly, there was no noise from within the hotel..
After an abysmal experience at another rental site, we decided to go this listing in Expedia. The staff were amazing with suggestions on where to go and what to do and were very accommodating to anything we requested to include a late checkout. They also have a place to store bags if need be. The rooms were nice. Nothing overly amazing, but great for our needs in Rome for the short time we were there and it was right near the train station which in Rome, is a must! I highly suggest staying at this property!
This hotel has been so amazing, I stayed here for two nights initially during my two week trip in Italy. The first two nights went so well that after staying somewhere else, we came back here for the remainder of the trip. The staff is amazing. There are really delicious and convenient options right next to the hotel. A little store with just about anything you could need is right next-door as well as really great restaurants just a few steps over. The rooms are comfortable, and there are charging ports on all sides of the beds which is necessary on a vacation. The rooms are very well-maintained.
Excellent location, walkable. Staff were pleasant and spoke multiple languages which was extremely helpful. Rooms, however lacked certain amenities. Also, you only get one key card and it has to stay in the slot to keep the power on. This was slightly inconvenient since on a couple of occasions, my husband and I had separate outings but had to rely on the other to be there to let us back in. We had to request an iron and had to wait because it was in use by another party. When we got it, it didn’t work. Requested late check out - we had rented out 3 rooms, one of which was vacated at 7:00am and requested late check out for the other two- looking for 1 -2 hrs later- not very accommodating and only allowed 30 min later.
