Our flight - from Budapest to Rome - was cancelled -2 days before arrival- because of the strike in Italy. We spent long hours searching for alternative travel options but there were no flights with 4 seats available from Budapest or the larger cities in the area (Vienna, Bratislava) that we could take. Travelling by bus or car would entail a 20 hour + journey into the night, which we cannot do with two young children under the age of 10. It is with great sadness that we have to cancel our booking for the apartment.
We feel that due to reasons out of our control and the shortness of time, this is a „vis maior” situation. We asked them to get a reimbursment for at least some of the accomodation fee that we had paid in full. As an alternative solution we wanted to to move our paid booking up to the Spring of 2020. We spent 2 messages (still no answer) and called them. They was very negative, no cooperation, not to solve the situation. They want only the money... I don't recommend.
