On September 3, 1962, Prime Minister John Diefenbaker officially tamped down the “last patch” of asphalt in the highway opening ceremony here at the Summit Monument in Glacier National Park, BC. Constructing the first continuous, all-season, two-lane road across Canada had taken 12 years and cost nearly $1B. The Trans Canada Highway stretches 7,821 km (4,849 ml) from Victoria, BC to St. John’s, Newfoundland, as shown on the mosaic. (June 2019)

After a long drive decided to have dinner at the Hotel restaurant Quattro- Italian food after checkin and it was amazing followed by a soak in our room private hot tub.
