Whether your vacation plan is to hike, climb or relax with friends and family, Huckleberry Shed provides the comfort and style that will provide happy memories of the Red River Gorge.
The space
The cabin “Huckleberry Shed” was named for two reasons. One the spirit of the novel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. This was a favorite of mine when I was younger, as the woods and nature is a great escape from the daily grind of life’s troubles.
Two, the saying, “I’m your Huckleberry,” refers to the right person for the job or a person of little consequence.
Huckleberry Shed’s theme is animals and nature based on the adventurous spirit of the cabin’s name. There are several pieces of original art from artists that live around the Red River Gorge.
Huckleberry Shed is furnished with speakers for playing your favorite music. The Alexa speaker is located in the living room. Huckleberry Shed has an Amazon subscription, so all you need to do is say, “Hey Alexa, play…..” and it will play.
There is a hot tub and TV on the deck with vast seating to enjoy the outdoors. The Wifi provided has the capability for streaming your favorite series. The house has two bedrooms, with king beds, both with memory foam mattresses and extra pillows for resting after a long day of hiking. There is also a fold out twin bed located in the closet upstairs.

Other things to note
I wanted to make potential guests aware that there is construction of a new cabin happening next door. The builder only works during the week and keeps reasonable hours during the day. You might experience some low-level noise on weekdays.
There are two parking spots at Huckleberry Shed. If you are in a large truck, (like a 2500 truck) there is one spot for parking. In reaching The cabin, you will travel through a bumpy gravel road with two hills. Taking a sports car or motorcycle is not recommended for this vacation. Certain types of Sedans are not recommended. A 4x4 vehicle is strongly recommended when there is snow and ice. If you have any questions about your vehicle. Please ask, as we are happy to help with your choice of vehicle to take to the cabin.
Dogs are welcome. We charge a one-time fee of $30 per stay for your dogs that you bring with you. (2 maximum). We do not have any dog restrictions on breed or size.
