"The TRYP Hotel in Newark presents itself well on the surface. The property is attractive, reasonably priced, and the amenities are perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately, my stay was overshadowed by some of the worst customer service I have experienced at any hotel. The first room I was assigned had a cockroach on the bed linens. When I reported it to the front desk, there was no apology, no expression of concern, and no acknowledgment that this was a serious issue. The employee simply handed me a...

"The hotel is located in an excellent location if you need to have transportation to Manhattan. The train station is practically part of the hotel. It is to bad that the hotel does not have an agreement with the parking lot next to it. The rate is absolutely crazy and the option of a reasonable rate is in a parking lot that is not next to the hotel. The area has many homeless people around, so walking back to the hotel from the parking lot at night is a little scary. There is police in the area...

"The room was kind of Dark"

"They gave me the wrong room and wouldn’t change it when I asked which is not really fair when I paid the price for the time I thought I was getting. I even offered to pay more for the suite that was listed on my reservation and the person at the feont counter didnt look to check what she even had she just said she couldnt do it. "It's a nice looking property from the outside but not in the best of neighbourhoods. The smoke detector on the 2nd floor didn't have a cover on it so not sure if it worked. I had to ring the owner up at 23.00 as I couldn't get the front door opened. You had to pull the handle as you entered the door code."

"Terrible"

"Housekeeping should do a little better (there was hair in the sink when we got there), but everything else was fine. The staff were very helpful and kind!"

"Wonderful stay at the Canopy. Close to cool spots and the PATH train. Kind staff, cool vibe. Bed was super comfortable. Can’t ask for much more. Don’t deliberate. Just do it! You can get into the Village in about 15 minutes."

"Expedia do not have proper address of this location. I staguld a lot to find out this address.. please call owner as soon as u book ..else you will roming arund the building with no address.."

"The location was perfect for anyone who wants to park their cars and walk a short distance to the train station! The staff were extremely friendly and the included breakfast was of course a huge bonus! Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to visit NYC!"
