My husband and I spent a week at this beautiful house with our adult children and their significant others, plus our 1 year old granddaughter, and had a wonderful time. The house is really unique with soaring wood beam ceilings, a huge open family room in the newer section of the house and antique farmhouse charm in the older part of the house. There is huge game room in the basement (accessible by a spiral staircase) with a pool table, poker table and foosball; in fact, there are so many games in the house, no need to bring anything! Our granddaughter loved her own little room (with crib and small bed) off of her parent's room, the rocking chair and rocking horse just her size, and the little playhouse outside! The kitchen had everything you need, plus two terrific grills out on the beautiful patio. And a huge hot tub! There are 4 official bedrooms, but there are additional loft areas for sleeping and 2 extra "bedrooms" off of the family room and master bedroom. (You could easily sleep 14 people for a ski vacation, although some spaces are not as private as others.) The master bedroom is gorgeous (although due to the high ceilings and lofts above the space, it is fairly open to the new section of the house, which is fine if the people staying in that room are heavy sleepers or early risers!) The other 3 bedrooms are in the older section of the house, which is very charming, so if you are only using the 4 official bedrooms there is plenty of privacy. The hosts were amazing and incredibly responsive to every question and need! We had a problem with the refrigerator and they were there within a couple of hours with a brand new one! They have great recommendations about things to do, so take them up on their suggestions! There is a fantastic family lake nearby that is gorgeous and Middlebury is a cute little Vermont town. Frankly, we enjoyed simply relaxing in the gorgeous house, playing games, and hanging outside on the patio. Well worth it!!
