We had a family suite on the bottom floor and it was perfect, lots of room for our 3 young kids. There is plenty of bottled water on each floor, a good pizza shop attached to the building plus a convenience and beer store less than a minute walk up the street. "The property, to no fault of their own, was very noisy due to construction directly across the street which meant we could not enjoy the pool. The manager was not around a lot, I had a complaint about people in the pool after midnight, they were smoking and drinking until after 1am but the manager was not around to tell. I would stay there again, but I would google map the area to see where the construction was taking place."

"Excellent! I can only speak for the room i stayed in as there are 2 more rooms. My trip was with my wife of many years and so this is from a couples point of view. As a New Yorker where customer service is top priority, this place checked all the boxes. The staff was professional and courteous, room was clean, alot of space and the location was great. You take less then 2 mins to the beach and less then 1 min to bars and restaurants. My wife did mention the sounds in the morning from the birds...

"The Rufugio del Mar was a beautiful property. We stayed in building 2 which only had 7 units. They all had their own kitchen and bedroom/s. The staff were super friendly and the pool and gardens were immaculate. I would recommend staying on the second floor if possible as the lower units can be a little dark and do absorb a bit of noise from the above units. The location is 2 blocks from the beach and the property includes free beach chairs and umbrellas. They also provide free top of the line...
