Treat yourselves to this pet friendly, lake-front property on Baynes Lake great for sunsets and views. Perfect for those looking for a getaway on a quiet beautiful lake. End your day with a fire by the lake, roasting marshmallows and spotting Bald Eagles.

Don't forget about all of the wintertime fun activities as well. There is usually a path cleared for ice skating and wintertime hikes. Ice fishing tents are plentiful throughout the winter season. Cross country skiing, snowmobiling and for your skiing and snowboarding activities, Fernie Alpine Resort is a short 30 minute drive away.
5 minute drive to the nearest boat launch at Lake Koocanusa. swimming at Kikomun Lake is a 15 minute walk away or 3 minute drive. There is also a 4 person (2 adults & 2 children) paddle boat you will have access to.

Lower level has been updated with brand new hardwood flooring throughout. A/C has been added.

Camping trailers, tents and RVs are not allowed and, if found, will be subject to fines and the possible cancellation of the reservation. Thank you for your understanding.

All properties are equipped with decibel monitoring software. Our neighbours would appreciate you respecting our zero-tolerance policy to noise complaints and the quiet time rules being respected. Due to the new regulations at Baynes Lake, capacity cannot exceed 10 total guests or fines will occur. Max. 6 parking spots and no street parking allowed.

Cute little spot with everything you need
This was a great spot. We had 3 kids under 5 and an old man of a pup. The house was spacious, clean and bright. The AC was fantastic. The kids loved 'hiking' down to the little sandy beach to make castles and see the very curious turtles. Huge bonus was the paddle boat, the kids absolutely loved being paddled out and jumping off in the middle of the lake. Super easy to get to and close proximity to general store and Kookanusa. Thanks for the great retreat for our family!

Great place and excellent stay!
Everything was excellent! The place exceeded our expectations. Check in was easy with a lock box, gorgeous property and scenery, loved the dock and fire pit area, a perfect thanksgiving weekend stay for our group of 4 adults, 3 kids and 1 dog. Very well stocked kitchen, bathrooms also very well stocked with towels, shampoo, soap, etc., bedrooms were very large with extra bedding and lots of pillows, the dog run/ fenced yard was amazing. Highly recommend!

Great family getaway!
Excellent house/location for a family get together. Great attention to detail in the home, beautifully stocked with everything we needed during our stay. Gorgeous lake, fire pit area, selection of decks throughout the day. Could not ask for a better place for our gathering! I would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Beautiful house and location
Everything was exactly as described in the Vrbo listing. A couple of problems at check in were dealt with very quickly by Diana. Some rest and relaxation by the lake in the mountains was exactly what our family needed!

Beautiful place
This house is good. Very fine thinking has gone behind equipping this house with all necessary things and placing them at right place. It has nice front yard and we were welcomed by a herd of deers when we arrived. We enjoyed the stay. Only one difficulty we faced was in locating the trash bin which took a while. I recommend this house.

AN ENJOYABLE TIME
Our family of 6 adults, a 3.5 year old + 15 month old enjoyed this incredibly quiet spot over a period of 10 days. The pictures and on line description are as is (other than the rowboat which is not there). It was clean throughout with plenty of supplies in the kitchen and bathrooms. The BBQ was great for all our meals. The lake is not swimmable but we enjoyed our canoe for early morning and evening paddles. The pedal boat is there too. The small sandy beach was great for the kids before driving over to the other lakes in the area. We had planned to bring our 2 family dogs but had not noticed/read the finer print, until well after we had booked. Initially the AC was not working. I do want to emphasize, the AC was fixed. Fernie Central Res. was very quick to respond doing all they could over a long weekend to remedy the situation. Once the plumber arrived on the Tuesday, it was a quick fix. We had to turn the whole system off though as the furnace filters had to be replaced to avoid other potentially immediate problems/damage. Again our contact, Diana, was on it arranging for filters to be delivered that day by the owner's family members who live nearby. While delivering them they also helped that same evening to eliminate an active wasp nest from above the back deck. Arrangements were also made should we begin to run out of water. There was plenty for our time there. A few things of note: - the final sets of stones steps to the lake are not for anyone with mobility issues and quite a challenge with a toddler - the bathtub is VERY VERY dangerously slippery - we bought a bathmat - the full K bed - a great mattress but the frame or box spring (?) squeaks terribly with every move - the upper bunk is not for adults (use the trundle underneath) the frame used to help pull one up to the top bunk felt as though it would break off and while lying on the top - any movement - the whole bed shakes - with Diana's help providing the dimensions, we brought an adjustable child's gate to block off the top of the living room stairs. On the upper deck, we lay a chair on it's side at the top of those stairs - as our 5 month old is on the move. We did enjoy our time. Appreciated the help and would recommend this home.

Family vacation
This was a great place to stay. We had 3 little ones with various nap schedules. Being right on the lake made it easy to lay them down and still get to enjoy the vacation. Kids had a blast! The cabin was the perfect size for 8 adults and 3 kids. The kitchen had everything we needed. We didn’t get enough toilet paper originally, but it was stocked back up when we asked.

Great property, but needs a good cleaning!
Spacious and perfect for a girls weekend. It was great to get out on the lake an the bedrooms were comfortable, the house is really nice! Biggest issue was with cleanliness - there were moldy cutting boards (which we couldn't use, so meal time was a challenge) and within 1 hour of walking around the kitchen and living room my socks were disgustingly dirty. Amenities were really odd and inconsistent - we had conditioner out on the counters but no soap.

Nice quiet property
The property was comfortable and had the staples like like salt, pepper spices etc. The area was very quiet and perfect for friends getting together for a low key weekend. The property manager was very responsive. There was not enough bottled water for 7 people (we were not aware that the water was not drinkable until we arrived) and there was very little firewood. The cleaner was away for the weekend so the property manager refunded us some money to pay for the bottled water and wood we had to buy.

Baynes lake vacation
We were thoroughly excited about our vacation....Before entering the home,we noticed the front porch was full of leaves and dirt as well as cobwebs throughout theexteriorofthehouse. As we entered the home ,we were greeted by dirty towels left on the floor in the front entrance and towels on the couch,along with a bag of sheets, which we were not sure if they were clean or go out with the laundry so we put them aside. There was also no garbage bags which were supposed to be provided so we ended up going to the general store and purchasing some as you have to take all garbage to the dump. The entrance and basement have a moldy smell which is not appealing. The overall cleanliness of the house was a 4 out of 10 which is not acceptable as the cleaning fee you must pay is extremely high, for what we walked into and the overall price we paid for off season, was high for what we got. The lake is not swimmable as we thought as there were chunks of something floating in the water. This is not appealing as we booked this to paddleboard and swim in. Other than the cleanliness and a few things that we were missing, we did enjoy the quietness of the property and lake and found some great trails to hike.

nice cabin on a quiet lake
Loved the quietness of this cabin location. Even over the weekend, the lake was very quiet. Enjoyed our family get together at this cabin. It was an enjoyable weekend to reconnect for our family. I would recommend this location for anyone looking for a quality house on a quiet non motorized lake.
