La Clède is a charming 250 year old property set in its own delightful large garden (2000SqM) with views over the stunning countryside in the Southern Ardeche and accessed via a paved road that winds up through the vineyards. Ribes consists of around 20 enchanting hamlets in this award winning area, set amidst the Parc Naturel Règional des Monts d‘Ardèche. The property has the benefit of being close to the river Beaume 3km with many bathing opportunities.

With its Mediterranean climate Spring arrives early, the Summer is long and the autumn months divine. There is a large covered sun terrace for alfresco dining. The delightful well-established terraced garden offers an endless choice of spots to sit in the sun or cool off in the shade, all with plenty of seating.

La Clède has undergone a major refurbishment programme and is tastefully modernised whilst making use of the natural features and materials. The fully equipped kitchen is complete with a dishwasher and a large fridge freezer to help make self-catering as easy as possible. All bedrooms are en-suite including a high end bathroom. Wifi is available and there is plenty of private parking in front of the property for two vehicles.

Ribes is located on a sunny promintary close to the town of Joyeuse with its weekly well renowned market. The river Beaume is a short distance away and is great for splashing about with the children or simply relaxing on one of the small sandy beaches.

The area around Ribes has many beautiful walks starting from the property, cycling both on and off road is simply superb, bike hire is available nearby. Canoeing/kayaking down the Ardeche Gorge is very popular with an easily accessible, but far less commercialised start point of Balazuc, a well renowned "beau village".

Wonderful landscape and place to stay .. holiday together and still enough space for all family members when wanted, inside and outside the house - for teenagers + parents. Everything is like in the description and more...The house is spacious and tastefully decorated, well equipped and clean. During our stay it was hot but we found several nice places just a short drive away at the river to take a refreshing bath or even swim.. Very nice and easy communication with advice and support from Julie and Mike. Thanks for everything!

The living room, kitchen/dining room were large, comfortable and very well equipped. Lovely comfy sofas, and loads of pots and pans if you are cooking. The beds are very comfortable, we slept like logs. The 3 bathrooms proved very useful, one beautifully modernised. The others are fine but not such a high standard. There are lots of little nooks around the extensive, terraced gardens, to find the perfect spot to relax in sun or shade, with views across the village and surrounding countryside. Further great views are found within walking distance, either a gentle stroll out of the back gate, or more strenuous walking following one of the marked routes. Mike, the owner, was friendly and helpful, but not intrusive, he was able to advise on local walks and cycling.

We hebben een zeer fijn verblijf gehad! Het huis is mooi, ruim, schoon en licht. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding is ook goed. Een uitgebreide en goed ingerichte keuken. Daarnaast biedt de tuin een heel mooi uitzicht. Er zijn veel fijne plekken waar je kunt zitten in de tuin. De verhuurders (die in het aangrenzende huis verblijven) zijn erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hebben dankzij hen de beste zwemplekken ontdekt. Een geweldige plek om te ontbijten en dineren.

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour chez Mike et Julie, hôtes de bons conseils et très discrets. La maison était très propre et très jolie, même si pas très pratique avec sa terrasse à l'étage où l'on accède via une chambre. Mais, pour les vacances, on s'en est très bienarranges.

Nous avons passé deux semaines idylliques à La Clède. La maison est absolument merveilleuse, elle a un très grand charme et une véritable âme. De plus, elle est parfaitement équipée. Quant au jardin, c'est un régal de pouvoir y passer du temps, au gré de la journée et des envies. Il est tout simplement magique. Le cadre est magnifique, et Mike et Julie sont des hôtes parfaits. D'une grande gentillesse, réactifs, pleins de bon conseils, et très accueillants... Notre séjour a été une réussite. Nous espérons bien revenir un jour à La Clède! We spent two idyllic weeks at La Clède. The house is absolutely wonderful, it has a great charm and a real soul. It is also perfectly equipped. As for the garden, it is a delight to be able to spend time in it, depending on the day and the mood. It is simply enchanting. Not only is the setting beautiful but Mike and Julie are perfect hosts. Very kind, responsive, full of good advice, and very welcoming... Our stay was a success. We hope to return to La Clède one day!

Une semaine très agréable chez Julie et Mike dans le joli village de Ribes. Farniente dans le magnifique jardin en terrasse, baignades dans la Beaume… la maison dispose de tout le nécessaire et est décorée avec goût. On reviendra sûrement !

Schön renoviertes Haus mit sehr gut ausgestatteter Küche, sehr gepflegt. Großer Garten mit verschiedenen Bereichen zum Verweilen. Reibungslose und zuverlässige Kommunikation mit den sehr freundlichen Gastgebern Mike und Julie. Babybett und Hochstuhl für Kleinkind vorhanden. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt.

Maison très bien équipée et très agréable dans un cadre fabuleux en pleine nature Parfaite pour se reposer et profiter des environs qui ne manquent pas de choix (rands, vélo, baignade en eau vive, visites...) Les propriétaires Mike et Julie sont d'une extrême gentillesse et ont pris soin avant notre arrivée de nous transmettre toutes les informations nécessaires. Nous recommandons cette location.

Nous avons passé une superbe semaine à La Clède. La maison est pleine de charme avec un jardin idyllique et une vue à couper le souffle. La maison est bien située pour les visites et balades tout en étant dans un hameau calme. Mike est très accueillant et a su rénover la maison avec beaucoup de goût!

Wir haben eine herrliche Woche verbracht. Die Unterkunft ist sehr schoen eingerichtet und es fehlt an nichts. Man kann sich wunderbar im Garten aufhalten, es gibt eine tolle Sitzgelegenheit mit einem herrlichen Ausblick. Gleich in der Nähe ( ca. 10 Min) gibt es herrliche Badestellen im Fluss -Beaume und auch die Ardeche lässt sich gut mit dem Auto erreichen und lädt zum Paddeln ein. Mike ist ein sehr freundlicher Gastgeber und gibt gute Tipps. Die Unterkunft ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Mike, the owner, really made us feel welcome to his manor. Unlike many other holiday homes, this place appears to have a gentle finishing touch which is a the same time as practical as one's own house. The "kiwi" terrace provides a smashing view over the medieval hamlet, its church and the green valley. No need for a swimming pool here, as the nearby river (10 minutes drive) offers truly scenic and quiet bathing possibilities without the hustle of the crowded Ardeche river near Vallon Pont d'Arc (at least in August). We stayed here for 2 weeks in August 2018 and loved every minute of it, despite the occasional storm, thunder and heatwave in the first week. We are keen cyclists and brought our own racing bikes from the Netherlands. Mike is very helpful in pointing out various rides to be made from Ribes, ranging from 30 to 100km. Highly recommendable are the hiking tours in the surroundings as well as the famous canoe trips either from Balazuc (12 km) or Charmes (24 km). For those with a less active life style this house offers possibilities to enjoy a relaxed holiday in a well kept garden full of separate terraces. If you enjoy shopping there are various markets throughout the region, easily to reach within 20 minutes by car.

Nous étions 5 adultes et une enfant de 2 ans. La maison est bien rénovée mais très mal insonorisée entre l'étage et le rdc. La cuisine est jolie, neuve et bien équipée avec du matériel et des ustensiles de qualité, le salon confortable. Belle vue, notamment sur le clocher (situé à une cent-cinquantaine de mètres à vol d'oiseau) qui sonne toutes les heures, 2 fois, y compris la nuit, plus les vêpres, l'angélus, la messe... Le fait qu'il y ait 3 salles de bains est bien pratique. Nous n'avons absolument pas pu profiter du jardin (arride ou gravillonné) qui est tout en restanques, donc des escaliers partout. Certains, faits en grosses pierres inégales et disjointes sont très dangereux. Le barbecue ainsi qu'une terrasse avec table et chaises se trouvent devant la chambre du fond au premier étage. La cuisine étant au rdc, si vous voulez manger dehors, il vous faudra trimbaler vaisselle, ustensiles et nourriture à travers toute la maison ! Dehors, devant la cuisine, après avoir descendu quelques marches, pas de quoi s'attabler. La machine à laver n'essorait pas du tout. Quand nous l'avons signalé à Mike, il a eu une grimace d'impuissance. Nous avons donc ramené notre linge à laver chez nous. L'accès à la cour gravillonnée est une sorte de petit plan incliné très étroit avec une partie dans le vide. Gare aux grosses voitures. Certes nous y sommes allés lors d'une période de canicule, mais dans la maison il faisait une chaleur étouffante même avec les volets croisés et les fenêtres fermées la journée ou bien ouverts en soirée. Il y a bien des ventilateurs, un par chambre, mais il ont fait ce qu'il pouvaient sans grand succès. Dans la pièce à vivre le réfrigérateur avait les parois chaudes ce qui n'a rien arrangé. Il y a quelques moustiquaires bricolées, faites avec des cadres en bois à poser ou enlever suivant le besoin, mais inefficaces. Heureusement, la rivière est à environ 5, 6 minutes de la Clède et il y a de belles balades sous les châtaigniers au départ de la maison. La partie qu'occupent les propriétaire est accolée à angle droit prés de l'accès à la location, mais vu la discrétion de Mike ça n'a pas été gênant. La maison n'est absolument pas adaptée aux jeunes enfants.

Wir haben eine wunderbare Urlaubswoche im Haus La Clede verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr großzügig gestaltet und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Der Garten bedarf einer besonderen Erwähnung. Er ist terrassenförmig angelegt und hat viele Sitzgelegenheiten. Man hat einen wunderschönen Blick ins Tal. In der Nähe gibt es einen Fluss, in welchem wir baden konnten. Auch das war ein echtes Erlebnis.
