I took this on Madeira Island, Portugal last May :). It was a dream come true to visit this enigmatic island. I was suppose to visit it back in March but had to unfortunately cancel. But, I had plans to travel in May so I decided to include Madeira! It was really well worth it. I took a few tours but on this particular day I walked solo. A few hour walk in the Serra de Água Valley. Breathtaking scenery was all-around. Mountains, valleys and amazing colors! And this was one of my favorite views! There was actually not many views of this mountain from the path I was walking. I could have very easily missed it! I am glad I didn't, though. And I came at the right time, too - sunset time :).

Madeira Island was the 2nd part of my trip. Finland being first, due to a music festival I was attending. And then a day in Helsinki. And I ended my trip in Switzerland. Was quite a contrast between Madeira & Switzerland ;). And both so beautiful in their own way. A journey I'll never forget!

"Nice multi-level property with a rooftop terrace that provides a great view of Funchal. Management was quick and responsive. Be aware that if the weather is hot there’s no AC. They provided a room AC that worked for the bottom floor, and fans for the other two bedrooms…but it was warm for sleeping…but otherwise really enjoyed our stay!"

"We mochten onze bagage eerder al bij de accommodatie neerzetten. De vorige huurders waren net weg. Er was nog niet gepetst. Toen we na 16.00u aankwamen voor inchecken was alles keurig in orde en fris. Prima huis met voldoende ruimte en privacy. Inchecken via een video ging prima en de contacten met Tatiana van Atlantic holydays waren super. We hebben enkele tips gedeeld met Tatiana en de reactie was zeer positief. Een melding dat de lamp op de badkamer stuk was gegaan werd direct verholpen...

"Pros: Had a wonderful time in your Beach House! The views were more beautiful than I ever imagined. Family had one of our favorite vacations. Cons: Showers need immediate repair. First bedroom shower downstairs was stopped up and the pan filled with water. The other 2 bedroom showers leaked and flooded the bathroom floors. A little repair would make a big difference."

"Das Haus liegt weit oben und man hat eine schöne Aussicht. Die steile Anfahrt ist nicht zu unterschätzen. Die Küche ist für 4-5 Personen leider nicht so gut ausgestattet, es gibt auch keine Spülmaschine. Das Haus war sehr sauber und hat eine schöne Größe.Was man noch wissen sollte, morgens wird man von den Hähnen und den Hunden geweckt und es gibt Schnaken."

"In a word, fabulous. The villa is located in a very quiet area, the stay was in perfect peace (the occasional and distant dog barking is not disturbing at all and the neighbors' dogs are completely calm). It's almost a miracle that the villa is also a few minutes drive from the centre of Funchal, also a large supermarket with groceries, meat, fish and everything you need and also a great starting point for any trip. Parking is in a large garage inside, driving in takes a bit of practice but any...

"Alles sauber und in Ordnung. Einzelne Teile der Küchenausstattung (speziell Schneidebretter) sollten ausgetauscht werden, da sie einfach abgenutzt und unhygienisch sind. Ansonsten alles gut. Besonders praktisch ist die Bushaltestelle direkt vor dem Haus. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It had everything we needed and is extremely clean and organized. We loved the views of the mountain and ocean and the quiet at night. The location is fabulous and the host is very responsive, accommodating, and kind. We wish we had more time there!"

"Das Objekt war für uns eine Notlösung, da das eigentlich gebuchte Objekt 2 Wochen vorher storniert wurde. Das Haus hat Flair & ist komfortabel eingerichtet. Die Betten waren bequem. Jedoch war man auf eine Buchung zu Silvester nicht vorbereitet: Es standen keine Mülltonnen bereit und das Haus schien winterfest gemacht worden zu sein. Alles in allem haben wir uns aber wohlgefühlt und sind dankbar, dass wir noch aufgenommen wurden."

"Das Haus ist schön eingerichtet und es ist alles nötige vorhanden. Leider ist in der Küche ein starker Schimmelgeruch, der auch nach langem Lüften nicht verschwindet. Ich vermute ein offenes Abflussrohr hinter den Küchenmöbeln. Der Anschluss der Dunstabzugshaube ist auch nicht dicht. Die feuchte Luft sammelt sich im Oberschrank über dem Herd. Hier sollte unbedingt nachgebessert werden!"

"The wi-fi and internet was fabulous and strong throughout and around the Hotel. The room was spotless each day, the air on superb, the room a nice size with balcony overlooking the sea and mountains, and into Funchal. Hotel staff, location, rooms and pool are superb!"

"I liked the fact the hotel was quiet and tucked out of the way from the hustle and bustle of central Funchal with good views and surrounding scenery. My room was very spacious and comfortable (superior double) and worth every penny. The staff were all very welcoming and most helpful with any requests such as booking taxis or giving advice about local activities and trips. My only slight criticism is that they had no USB charging points in the room but luckily I did bring two adapter plugs with me so was easily able to charge my various devices - plenty of spare sockets in the room."
