"We recently stayed 5 nights at this beautiful hotel in the heart of the City and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out we were treated like royalty and every whim was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Our beautiful rooms had excellent views of Table Mountain and two restaurants on site offered excellent food options, with the Bombay Brasserie a must visit. The bar too is an excellent place to unwind after a long day. I can’t say enough about the staff …..everyone from the front desk, concierge, doormen, bar & restaurant staff always had smiles on their faces and were eager to please. We have stayed here before and will certainly do so again. "

"The staff were great but the condition of the rooms could be improved because one of the two rooms we booked smelled damp and mouldy and had an extractor fan that would not switch off (which was really noisy at night). The other room was fine but there should be consistency. "

"Whilst these rooms are effectively student accommodation and (in my case at least) the bathroom is shared by two rooms, they are excellently appointed and comfortable. They have good internet, parking, a great buffet breakfast, charming grounds, perfect for a day or two. Really helpful staff and all very clean and modern - they even have kitchen facilities. "

"Overall it was quite good, but the sink drained very slowly, to the point that it was difficult to use. Also, the bedroom ventilation seems to be connected to the bathroom, so there was occasionally some odor."

"The Newlands Guest House, a charming place built in 1836, has all necessary modern amenities including a swimming pool. Sarah and John, the proprietors, were the perfect hosts. They were very friendly & helpful with info about local places to see & dine at. We began each morning with a hearty meal, with hot & cold selections. Our room was very spacious and clean. Their cats & dog were a bonus. Our room opened onto a delightful garden. We had a wonderful three night stay at NGH, & would gladly return."

"I was never able to enter. The phone number they gave me never answered so was left at night trying to find another place to stay the night. It’s unacceptable that they won’t answer the phone they required you to call. "

"Good facilities. Easy parking. Mr Nazier is courteous and his team puts in a great effort. Generally a central location if you have a private car. "

"A most beautiful main building, Cape Dutch at its historical best. My room was luxurious."
