"I went to book into the hotel and it was closed, dark and empty. I tried to contact them on both numbers provided. Nothing. No answer, no call back. I tried all day and it was so frustrating and worrying as we had no idea where we were going to sleep that night. I left it until 5pm and then found another place to stay. Thought that perhaps something had happened and they'd be back the following day and may offer the two nights from then. Next day arrived and same fiasco. The hotel we had booked...

"Modernized and clean units. Extremely friendly and helpful owners and excellent breakfast included. Rural area with no restaurants nearby and located on narrow lane."

"It is central to Chumley, pleasant staff, good ale. Cold at night, (limited heating and poor insulation) very noisy on a Saturday until the the late hours. (entertainment area right outside bedroom) Food was very poor. No staff available outside of opening hours. (Had to leave without finalising food bill as no staff available). Breakfast served in another establishment (short walk) "

"The property was immaculate. Den and Jules were very welcoming and attentive. We had a lovely big room. Its a nice walk down into the village. The best b& b we have every stayed in.Highly recommend."

"Tim the host was brilliant, the double room en suite was great, breakfast was good. We would stay there again. Only one minor criticism was that the property was hedged in, so no views."

"Owner was lovely and very helpful, accommodation was beautiful,and spotlessly clean, overlooked lovely garden, sofa under window, comfy bed and good shower, lots of little touches, white port, sparkling water and plenty of tea coffee and milk. Breakfast was superb, hopefully we will return. Evening meal at nearby pub, we hadn’t booked but were offered a late table which suited us. "

"A classic pub, the building is old but it is a lovely place to stay, 2 minute walk from the starcross train station. (which also has the ferry to Exmouth) The room was clean, bright and comfortable and the owners are very accommodating. Would happily stay here again"
