Gorgeous sunsets on a 25 acre horse farm in a peaceful country setting. This 96 year old home was once owned by the DuPont Family (yes that DuPont family). In fact they even built race cars in the 4 car garage. House is large and offers many amenities. The grounds offer a park like setting with grand old trees and original brick silos. There are 12 stables and 7 paddocks for rent at an additional charge, so if you are in town for a horse show or just passing through with your equine pal, this is the place for you!
The house has 5 fire places, 13 foot ceilings, some of which are coffered. There are and 3 living spaces so there is a place to read, watch TV or even catch a nap. An in ground pool and fully fenced yard offer fun and room to explore for kids and fur babies alike.
In the backyard there is a mature pear tree which produces fruit in the summer, hence the name.
Country setting but 15 minutes from historic Camden and the equine facility where the Carolina Cup is held. 40 minutes from Columbia and and 30 minutes from Shaw Air Force Base. See u soon!!

I absolutely loved this place it was so beautiful! My children and I truly loved the house specially the back porch where the pool is inside the house is amazing I love all the decor and all the beautiful furniture and vantage things, and the beds were very comfortable. The outdoor surroundings are just beautiful too, it was so peaceful! I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Most relaxing trip

Our stay was awesome. The place was beautiful and very peaceful. One of the most relaxing and laid back trips that we ever took. Our dogs had a blast and the kids loved the pool and the house. We all had a wonderful time and the host was great. Thank you guys foe allowimg us to have the time away.

Best Trip Ever

We stayed here for our anniversary trip. It was the perfect location to relax. We stayed in the pool 80% of the trip. The hosts were super easy to contact if needed. We plan on coming back in the fall and for many more anniversaries to come!

July 4th

Enjoyed our stay as we have stayed there before and my wife felt like it was much cleaner this time. The only short glitch we had and I was thankful the caretaker in the back was home as we did not receive a code for the back to. Thankfully, she was home and all was great.We will be back and have told a couple of our friends how peaceful and enjoyable it is to stay there.Thanks again for a lovely time especially since it was our university!!David GranthamDav

Laid Back Southern Charm

Our family of 6 had a great time with the pool, multiple sitting rooms, just the right amount of beds, and snacks. This home is full of antiques and endless nooks and crannies to explore. We came for a single night but would love to stay longer our next visit. Easy check in and check out. Magical touches throughout.

28th Wedding Anniversary

My husband and I wanted to get away for our wedding anniversary and Pear Tree Farm was the perfect place. The setting is peaceful, beautiful, pet friendly and the house greets you with a warm, homey feeling as you enter. The large, fenced in yard was perfect for our dog to wander around and not roam away from the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciate the owners sharing their lovely estate. We left feeling relaxed and pleased with our accommodations.

Amazing getaway in peaceful country setting

My two friends and I stayed while attending an AKC event in Camden and we couldn't have found a better location. This home is BEAUTIFUL and has so many cool features!!! It was too cold to use the pool this visit but it looked amazing and we would have used if it weren't November (my fault for travelling in cooler weather! lol) The yard was perfect for our dogs to run and play safely without fear of escape and it was so quiet and peaceful in this country setting. We didn't bring any children but this home is prefect for families or just about anyone to get away but still be close to a small city. We will be booking again for next year very soon and THANK YOU so much to the owners for sharing their gorgeous property with us!!!

Great yard, has potential but needs work

The location was peaceful with a relaxing pool and well fenced yard for dogs. Person staying in back house kept stopping by to work on pool, etc unexpectedly. This disrupted the sense of privacy we expected. The house was spacious but very full of decor/junk. There didn't seem to be any place to unpack and settle in. As noted in the guest book, every nook and cranny was filled with something. Needs to be cleaned out.

A peaceful paradise

Pear Tree Farm was absolute magic! The house was whimsical and beautifully furnished. Every room was a treasure trove to discover for my 4 young children. I had the sense that children were very much thoughtfully considered when opening up their home which, as a home-school mom, made our stay that much more enjoyable. And I won't give away any secrets so as to keep it fun for future guests, but there were a few intentional surprises for kids that had our children squealing with delight! Kitchen was nice and big. It was functional enough and had everything we needed. One burner on the stove was not working, but did not hinder our dinner plans in the least. The beds were great-clean and crisp and oh so comfy. So comfortable in fact that my husband checked to see the mattress brand to consider changing ours at home, ha! There were some noticeable cobwebs in the Master bedroom above the bed, but this was a minor thing for us and something that can be easily rectified in future. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and all the beautiful flora and fauna that surrounds it. Many varieties of butterflies, dragon/damsel flies, frogs and toads were found by the children which added to their fun in the pool! Hardly no noise at all besides that which God created in nature. We all slept very soundly. The whole experience was amazing and would not hesitate to book again. Thank you to the owners for such a lovely time!

Beautiful home

This was our favorite place in our 9 day road trip. We felt right at home the minute we walked in the door. The grandkids were in the pool most of the time and wished we could have stayed longer. We took a short drive to Piggly Wiggly in Camden and discovered this quaint city full of historical sites. We will be back.
