"I think it's important to know this is someone's house with a few hotel rooms upstairs. There are some less-than-ideal aspects. The place is very echoey, so if the owners are entertaining downstairs you will hear it in your room. The lighting is very harsh, bright white, which is a big no for me personally. And the bathroom/shower has frosted glass walls that lead on to the hallway. No one can really see you but it doesn't feel that comfortable. Just some strange design choices. The owner couple...

"We were extremely impressed with the friendly efficient staff. The cottage we stayed in was quaint and clean. Well stocked with plenty of rusks and coffee. The cocktails were awesome.Try the Tom Collins Cocktail. Lovely walk trails as well. Then last, but by far not least, the food. I have saved the food for last because It deserves so much praise. "The staff are warm, friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast in the morning. Comfortable Room. Melville shopping centre nearby about a 15 minute walk and area felt safe to me. Using uber is a good way to go to areas further out. Very much enjoyed the days tours organised by the guesthouse with tour guide Ephraim. I recommend 84th on 4th Guesthouse as a very nice place to stay in Johannesburg."

"It’s a very well kept property which is next to main road. Host Rochelle and her husband is very welcoming and kind. We, a pack of 5 people went there to Braai, party and have a fun night and we really had a great time. Breakfast was okay. A special mention to the bread that is very well made. "Everyone is very friendly. It has a clean and fresh feeling when you arrive. The room was spacious and bed very comfortable. Terrence was especially helpful to us and always with a smile. There is a mall very close and lots of restaurants. However we were told not to walk around there after dark. So we drove the 3 blocks and parked in the garage for less than $1. Worth it. We would stay here again. "

"This is a fine basic residential apartment. I had a nice stay and no major problems. The wifi was fine. The kitchen is sparsely supplied. The A/C worked well. The rooms were serviced well. Sometimes the gate was unlocked and unattended at night. I think there is a sewage leak in the main parking lot, which was unpleasant. The mattress could do with being replaced. There is a nice restaurant on one side; but there is a squatter dwelling on the other side."
