"Acajou means mahogany and when you visit the place you would see why. The craftsmanship in the buildings is so beautiful. The staff is friendly and accommodating (special mention to Lizann) and the food was delicious. It's not located exactly on the beach but it's on the same side so you get views of the beach and it's only about a3 minute walk to reach the water. The beach itself is a long beach with medium waves so nice to bathe in and those who are interested in turtle watching, the guides...

"We called the day before check in and was told that the property was under renovations. Full payment was already made. We are awaiting a refund. We gave spoken to persons at Expedia who indicated that the host has to cancel the reservation first. We are still awaiting feedback and a full refund. Extremely disappointing. Property should NOT be listed and full payment take if under renovations."

"Indeed a delight to be up in the foliage in a most interesting structure! The tree house is well equipped and large. It would do with better lighting (difficult to read in the living room in the evening) and wifi that was connected to the internet. We enjoyed cooking there (with food we brought with us - nothing to buy locally) as well as eating at Acajou Hotel. PS - bring some mud shoes if it has-been raining!"

"Wendy, the proprietor, was great as well as everyone! Goergianne, Cherrie-Anne- so wonderful. It was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy. And watching the Leatherback turtles nest was amazing. It was a very safe and secluded space. And the food was perfectly amazing, even for someone as particular as me. I highly recommend for those wanting to experience the Trinidad island culture and hospitality."

All in all the experience was great so I would recommend them. "
