"We booked the 3 bedroom apartment for a group of 4. Only downside we were unaware of was that one bedroom was off by itself and none of us really felt comfortable with that. The breakfast was great! Most staff amazing but had one gentleman at front desk who completely ignored us, did not even look up when we dropped off the key to checkout. Good location. Great rooftop. HOT water! Lots of steps- pack light! "

"The hotel is a “one of a kind”. Located in the historic part of Quito in a former large colonial home. The ornamental paintings on all the walls create an indoor garden atmosphere. Our room was quite large with a comfortable king size bed. The washroom is well appointed. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Eggs are made to order. The artisanal bread was a nice touch. There is no elevator, so ask for a room on a lower floor if you have mobility challenges or think the high altitude might make a little tricky to climb too many stairs. The location is close enough to walk to many of the main attractions in the old town. We only had breakfast at the hotel so we can’t comment on their dinner. There’s an excellent restaurant just next door and in the other direction, about a minute away are several family run restaurants that are worth trying We can’t emphasize enough how attentive, kind and helpful the staff are at this hotel. Staying at La Casona was a terrific part of our Quito experience. "

"We really enjoyed our stay. We had the Amazon (luxury) room and it was great. Loved the bed ! Firm and really comfortable! Soaker tub and complimentary wine was also nice. Freddy in the restaurant and all staff were great. We walked to centre of old town from the hotel within 10-15. We felt safe in and around old town Quito. Previously we were in Brazil, so this was a nice change. While elevation isn’t super high (2800m approx) we did get altitude sickness for about 18 hours. We dint expect it so we didn’t take medicine in advance, but when we did, it helped. Breakfast was nice. Pretty simple but nice ham & eggs, etc. "
