"Staff was friendly, but the area is in a rough location- parties all night could be heard and the next morning, so many homeless individuals crowding the streets. The hotel room was poorly appointed and terribly outdated. "

"This house is a good home base for exploring the Hilo area. The kitchen is unusually well set up for cooking, with a standard range, lots of dishes, and even food storage containers. The little back deck has a table for six and a nice view of Hilo and the ocean. The place is very clean and the decor is modern and spare, mostly gray and white. Each room has a big screen, but there's no reading light in the smaller bedroom. The hosts' home is about 30 feet away, but they don't interact much, so this is a good place to stay if you prefer to be on your own in a two-bedroom house with a standard kitchen."
