The pictures do not do the view justice. The cabin itself is beautiful, the trails & water nearby excellent, but the view of the mountains was the star of our vacation. 10/10, will go back.
It's a bit of a hike up the mountain but so very worth the trip! The view is spectacular and sitting in the hot tub or rockers enjoying the view was such a treat. Spectacular sunset. Very clean. Comfy beds. All the amenities you need. Highly recommend!!
This was our second stay at the Buck Mountain Community-- and we can't wait to return! The cabin, the views, the property are all worth it! We enjoyed the fire pit, the hot tub, the fishing pond and the waterfall! We have two young boys and they enjoyed catching fish at the pond and crayfish at the waterfall. The sunset was stunning right from the back deck!
My husband, I, our son and his friend and our dog had a wonderful, relaxing vacation stay at the Buck Mountain Getaway. The cabin was well-appointed, with two large decks (where we spent most of our time enjoying the cool breezes and the view!!!!) and the boys had their own “floor” where they could play their video games without the “parents”. So happy to have have had the opportunity to enjoy our down time on Buck Mountain, in this beautiful home. Thank you for sharing it with us.
This was the perfect place for a restful and restorative getaway. The views are truly stunning, with beautiful sunsets as a result of the Southwestern exposure--we watched several from the hot tub! There is lots of room to spread out, the kitchen is fully stocked, and the owners are responsive and attentive. The location is remote, so heed the encouragement to buy groceries on your way up the mountain. It is true that once you arrive you won't want to leave! We spent 4 nights, and only ventured out once for a pleasant daytrip to Boone. We also enjoyed the firepit, and the welcome basket for smores and treats! Highly recommended.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this adorable mountain home. The views are amazing and we had hours of entertainment watching the hummingbirds at the feeder on the upper deck. The hot tub is a nice bonus to the property. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is because we felt we needed to clean a few things before using them (pots/pans/cooking utensils).
Noteworthy for future guests: the pillows are very soft, so if that doesn't appeal to you, you should consider bringing your own.

We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view of the mountains, and the 65 foot waterfall in the community was a real treat. Our grandchildren had a blast catching crayfish.

Great relaxing getaway!
My husband and I recently stayed at the Buck Mountain Getaway and had a great time! The house has an amazing view, and was very quiet and secluded. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub daily and exploring the surrounding areas. Jennifer was very quick to respond and answered questions before and throughout our stay despite a couple small weather related hiccups due to hurricane Florence. Would definitely recommend to others or stay again.
Wonderful home overlooking the mountains. Beautiful sunsets and cool mornings to enjoy our coffee and listening to the birds on the deck. Being from flat Florida, the road to the home was a little scary. Just me…..
We had to turn the hot tub up from the 80 degree setting to get in. We didn't bring our pet.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location
The property and house were fine. The views are outstandingHowever the ride up and down to the home was awful. It takes an extra half hour to get anywhere from there because of the road'Having to make a daily trip to the dumpster was also not pleasant

Enjoyed it greatly.
Cabin & property was great. Had a problem with ice maker in freezer, it did not work, no TV channels to watch. There is no cable or sattalite connection . Other than that we had a great Thanksgiving with family at the cabin
We so enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It is absolutely gorgeous with breathtaking views. Very clean . It has everything you could possibly need. The only complaint I have is that our stay was not long enough.
Even though we had a few small issues during our stay overall everything was great. The response back from the owner was very timely for any issues we had. The location was perfect, as it felt very secluded but was nearby neighbors. I would definitely rent again from the same location.
Great views and privacy for a nice getaway in the mountains. Tons of hiking in the area and it even snowed one morning. Lots of room for the dog to run and explore. Had some encounters with the stinkbugs but no major issues. Overall very pleased with the stay.
Property was amazing, it was a perfect stay for us and our four legged love. The property and the firepit were perfect. Hot tub was fantastic to sit in and watch the sunset! I hope you find the bear on the property!!!
This cabin offers a million dollar westerly view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. My group (ages 18-28) absolutely loved the amenities and environment. While most of the neighbors were cordial, we did have one aggressive neighbor who confronted members of our group in an unfriendly manner concerning a perceived rule violation. Other than that - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return again.
My husband stayed here and said the property was enjoyed by all. The fire-pit, walking trails, and property views were the highlights of the short trip. Not too far outside of Boone, and there was a great small town nearby for shopping and dining. We hope to return with the family in the spring or summer!
This property was just as described. It had amazing views, the house was very comfortable and instructions were very clear. It was so peaceful and relaxing, the house is even decorated for Christmas. We really enjoyed our stay, highly recommended..
May family and I loved our stay at the Purlear, NC house for the Thanksgiving holiday. The views were beautiful and the house was clean and beautiful, and Jennifer, the property manager, was easily accessible to answer our questions.
The property is fantastic - exquisite views of the surrounding area, spacious rooms with all the features you could ask for in a mountain getaway. The fire pit at the easily accessible bottom of the hill was a fantastic way to wind the night down under a star filled sky. This is definitely a property we’d like to rent again.
