Large 17 bedroom holiday home in French Pyrenees with private garden and pool

"The lovingly restored former Hotel D’Angleterre with great garden and swimming pool. Ideal for a large family of 21. Our genial host, Martin, was on hand to advise and was a great help when we had a medical issue. The small town of Vernet-Les-Bains is delightful and the towns people friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed a lovely evening meal at Bistro le Cortal up by the church. The service was friendly and excellent. The four main dishes on the menu gave plenty of choice, fish, duck, steak and a vegetarian option. One family of our party spent a morning at the Spa and reported favourably (budgie smugglers and swimming caps required for men, which caused some hilarity). Villefranche de Confient nearby is especially worth a visit and you can catch le Train Jeune from there with the possibility of open carriages to enjoy the views as it ascends the mountain. There are no downsides if you are looking for a holiday in beautiful Occitanie. We flew from Leeds Bradford to Perpingnan. A two hour fifteen minute flight. Then hired cars for the one hour drive down to Vernet Les Bains, while others arranged private coach transfer without difficulty. We ranged in age from one year to seventy four. As we live in different parts of the UK it was great to catch up as a family. Highly recommended hiring, host and area. "

"Maison très agréable fonctionnelle (2 terrasses), il ne manque rien, cadre magnifique, si vous recherchez la quiétude vous êtes au bon endroit. Piscine au top. Idéale pour une grande famille (nous étions 11), petits villages aux alentours magnifiques. Très bon accueil par la famille D'Huyvetter-Jacob qui sont pleins d'empathies et à dispositions. Une bouteille de vin et un jus fruit en guise de bienvenue très apprécié."

"Nous avons passé un séjour absolument parfait. C'est l'endroit idéal pour une déconnexion totale, au calme, entouré par la nature.Le logement est très propre, parfaitement fonctionnel et décoré avec beaucoup de goût. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la baignoire, un vrai petit plus après une journée de balade. L'hôte est très discret, d'une grande gentillesse et très réactif au moindre besoin.Le mélange entre la décoration ancienne et les touches modernes, ainsi que l'agencement de l'appartement, nous ont donné l'impression de remonter le temps, comme si nous passions nos vacances chez nos grands-parents. C'était une sensation unique, pleine de charme et de nostalgie, tout simplement magique.Entre la nature omniprésente, les animaux qui nous entourent, les rivières à proximité et les magnifiques petits villages à découvrir, tout était réuni pour passer un moment inoubliable.Nous repartons avec de merveilleux souvenirs et reviendrons avec grand plaisir. "Pequeño B&B en Prades al que le doy 4 estrellas solo por la amabilidad de los propietarios; sin embargo daría 3 estrellas porque lo que publican no coincide con la realidad y le falta mucho mantenimiento... la alberca no funciona y esta verde, el aire acondicionado es en realidad ventilador, en realidad no hay restaurante aun cuando se anuncia que si... además cuando llegamos nos informaron que el foco de nuestro cuarto se había quedado sin funcionar ese dia... sin embargo, nunca lo remplazaron aun cuando estuvimos 3 noches."

"One of the best hotels I have stayed at. In beautiful surroundings with a rustic charm but with fantastic modern rooms. The staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for you and were bilingual, which was a big help for me. Effortlessly conversing in English and German. The bed was comfy, the shower amazing and the TV a nice big size. The restaurant was fabulous and every meal I had there was delicious. I loved the outside areas too, either cooling off in the pool, reading a book in the tranquil gardens or having a coffee next to the river. The perfect stay!"
