"Decided to stay here vs Cinque Terre and was happy with the decision. Located right by train station. Room was pretty cramped with family of 4 and could easily hear neighboring rooms. Room was clean, AC was a little weak though so was a bit warm at night. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would probably give a 9 if I could given the value compared to neighboring towns. Despite some people reporting that La Spezia didn't seem safe I never got that impression and was travelling with 2 kids....

"We enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. There is a car park just across the street that you can leave your car in for as many days as you need without having to move it or pay each day. The staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was efficient and our room was superb. We reserved a double room with a balcony, so it was a lovely way to spend the late afternoon with a glass of wine and good book after spending the day at the beach and before dinner. "The property manager Sandro was great; he was very helpful and accommodating. The apartment was clean, compact, and very efficient. We stayed for 3 nights that included Friday and Saturday which were very loud nights because this apartment is right above a restaurant. The music and the screaming was very loud until at least 2AM on weekends. "

"Judith is amazing! She was so friendly, helpful, and always responsive, from right before we arrived until we left. The location is great, the room was very nice, comfortable, and clean. Judith stocked it with water and delicious snacks, which we so appreciated. I highly recommend Il Veliero to anyone going to Levanto/Cinque Terre!!"

"Very nice and clean, room is small but that’s to be expected in Europe if your custom to the US. The room could use a shelf in the bathroom to put your stuff when getting ready. Refrigerator in room is nice and works well. Very pleased with the accommodations "

"I loved staying here . Antonio went our of his way to help me with my luggage, it was a10 min walk from the train station and also a short walk to all the must see places. The room is cozy, beautifully organized with the essentials, and has AC which was very much welcome in the hot days "

"The photos for this property don't do it justice! A really, really great place to stay in La Spezia. It's located in a very convenient area (~5min to the train station) which made it easy to travel around the area to Cinque Terre, but also only ~10-15min to get to the old town area and walk around. Lots of fantastic restaurants nearby as well. And Maria, the host, was absolutely fantastic and so sweet. My friend accidentally left his airpods after we checked out, and she even shipped them to him...

"We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days during mid-June and the pool filter was broken such that the pool was unusable during our entire stay. For a remote place with limited amenities in the immediate area this was very limiting and certainly detracted from the experience that it should have been. The staff was gracious and did compensate by providing us a free spa usage which was a welcome experience. In addition, the meals we had during our stay at the facility were excellent."

"The room was spacious and very clean, equivalent to a five star hotel in my opinion. The host was amazing and super responsive. For a small charge, they even offered to do our laundry. The La Spezia harbour is a 15 minutes walk away, from where you can catch ferries and boats to Cinque Terre. Should I return to La Spezia, I know definetly where to stay!"

"PROS: Great location, near train station, not too many steps up. Very convenient the private parking in La Spezia (the public parking at the La Spezia train station gets full by mid-morning). Clean, comfortable apartment. Staff responsive via phone, gave great advice on restaurant and baggage storage. CONS: the only window gives on to an adjacent wall. Staff not responsive to Expedia messages. Micro bathroom. Don't let the check-in guy break your passport to take a picture of it!"
