"The villa is spacious, clean, comfortable, and has everything you need for cooking, eating, and entertainment. The beds were comfy and the villa was situated in a quiet corner of the resort next to the woods. Had a raccoon appear at the patio door the first night; guessing that previous guests may have given it a handout. The resort is practically adjacent to Starved Rock State Park, which allowed us to hike in the early morning and get back to the villa for breakfast, then head out again. When it was too hot to hike, we played some mini golf, which is in a shady location at the resort. Great kayak rental on the opposite side of the river within a 10-minute drive. Beautiful paddle upstream along the limestone bluffs. Highly recommend this rental."

"My family had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and inviting. The breakfast was delicious with many options daily from fresh eggs to home style waffles. The pool was clean and a place where many guest relaxed after spending time in the nearby parks. Our room was spectacularly clean, the housekeeping definitely takes pride in their work and it shows. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re traveling to starved rock or Matthiessen state parks. "
