"Overall we liked our stay. However, on our way home, we noticed a one night, charge, on our credit card account from the motel. The phone call back to the motel resulted in a verbal disagreement as to why this charge occurred. The manager would be available the next day but until then we were upset with this improper charge. The next day the charge was cancelled by a matched credit. Unfortunately this situation, although solved, was a dark stain on our visit."

"Green Gables in Lanesboro, MN is a GREAT place to stay. The property is beautiful & well kept both inside & out. Self check-in allows for easy check-in, even if you will be arriving late. They have all you might need for your stay readily available such as extra towels or ice. Staff answers any questions promptly. There is a separate garage for easy & safe bike storage as well as a continental breakfast daily. It will be our first choice on our next trip to the Lanesboro, MN area!!"

"Room was clean and spacious. Had king size. 2nd floor, had to walk stairs. Need to use key to get in and out of hotel after hours. Super fast internet speed. Very surprised on my stay. Would stay again if im in the area."

The Hen House Retreat - A Comfortable Place to Roost

"The four of us really enjoyed the hen house. We didn’t get an opportunity to use the fire pit outside, but it looked so inviting. We loved the chicken and rooster decorations- some of them really make us laugh! We even saw the neighbors’ chickens wandering in the area! I loved perusing through several quilting magazines. The house had so many thoughtful additions, such as boxes of tissues, ear plugs, night stands, and chocolates near the bed. The only addition I could think of was possibly a little mirror in the bedrooms so us women could do our hair and makeup while the bathroom is in use. Note the 3 bedrooms are upstairs, which was fine for us “young seniors”. The kitchen had everything we needed, even a toaster, which I haven’t found in our last 2 rentals."

"Our room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel was in a great location. It was easy to find off the main road with grocery, gas, and meals adjacent to the property. We had a nice complimentary breakfast. We were in and out and didn't have a lot of contact with the staff, but they were attentive at the desk and in the kitchen area. I would stay there again."
