"We had a truly lovely stay at this charming guesthouse. The owner and her husband are without a doubt the sweetest people we met during our trip. On the morning of our departure, her husband even offered, completely on his own initiative, to drive us to the ferry. That level of kindness and hospitality is rare these days and deserves to be recognized.

"Wonderful studio that overcame our expectations. Perfectly situated one step to the church and the ferry terminal. Madalena as such isn‘t spectacular, but a lovely little community. Very kind manager, easy to reach, no probs! Very pleased that it gave the possibility not to change towels every day and not to clean every day - eco responsible!"
"Excellent hotel in the center of the town. Rooms are rather small but okay. The lighting is not very bright. Equipment of the rooms are according to 4 star hotels. Excellent breakfast. Parking is available but it is better to have a small car. We would return anytime."
"This property is in a spectacular location overlooking the magnificent Atlantic Ocean. You have to coordinate the resorts ATV transportation but it's we'll with the effort. This is a perfect place to escape so stay at least a few days if not more. You should stop at the grocery store and be fully stocked for meals although you're greeted with homemade bread, local cheese and the owners produced wine. "
"This is a beautiful property that opened 10 days before we stayed, so they were still working out little issues. The staff was very solicitous and the wine tasting in the cave was a really nice experience. The pool for the main rooms is indoor and lovely. The VIP rooms have their own small pools. The breakfast on the terrace was lovely. There is no outdoor pool, bar or restaurant. "
"Tolles historisches Gebäude mit Flair. Wer auf Authentisches auf den Azoren Wert legt, ist hier richtig. Hatten ein Zweibettzimmer mit Gemeinschaftsbad und uns wohl gefühlt. Frühstück ist spartanisch, so wie es eben auf den Azoren genommen wird, dafür ist es inklusive. Die zum ehemaligen Kloster gehörige Kirche wird nur zum Gottesdienst geöffnet, ist sehenswert. "

"Toll gelegen, direkt am Hafen, und die Vierbettzimmer sind auch angenehm. Es gibt abschließbare Schränke in den Zimmern. Einziges Manko: wenn man ein oberes Bett erwischt, muss man Sprossen klettern, die eher für jüngere Füße geeignet sind. Am besten bei Bedarf vorher ein unteres Bett anfragen."
