Room was great, very clean, but customer service is lacking for this very expensive hotel. I wanted to add one day before my check in date and could not do it in person at the hotel. Everything is online so that means no money stays in Cabo Verde.

Overall, everything was great and the people were amazing. The only downside was that the tall PR lady, she did not come across as very friendly or approachable, and I also found a cockroach in my room.

This is an exceptional hotel, absolutely the hotel to stay in Praia. Beautiful rooms and great views. Very friendly staff. I will recognize some hotel staff who were fantastic. Rui, the shuttle driver was superb. Elvis, the waiter and Karine, waitress had exceptional service and were very friendly. Soraya at the front desk was very good. And Andrea, the guest services representative was quite friendly and helpful, as was the guy that works with her at the front desk. A beautiful hotel with great staff and superb food. Eating breakfast with fantastic views, was quite nice.

Barcelo is a true 5 star property. The hotel has wonderful attention to detail such as an ocean view from the shower amongst many other well thought out design and aesthetic elements. It's unobstructed sea views make Barcelo truly special and the sumptuous breakfast buffet is not to be missed. I booked the place on a whim not knowing much about Praia and Cape Verde on the whole and Barcelo Praia is world class by any standards across the globe. A true oasis to enjoy.The entire staff is also fabulous, super helpful and pleasant.

great place! A couple of options for improvement would be designating a smoking area as people were smoking on the patio near the lobby and the smell got stuck inside. Also need do not disturb signs at the doors. But the place is really nice and I hope to come back. I tried the restaurant food and it was also really good.
