We hade a lovely stay at The Golden Key Hotel in Prague! It is a really cool experience living in a building that old. The things that really stood out was: * the cleanliness - so fresh already at the lobby with a wonderful smell. * the location, so close to Charles Bridge, the Castle etc. * the view from our room (19). * the manager, such a lovely woman 🥰 * THE BED AND SHEETS 😍 Never have I ever slept at a hotel with that quality of beds and linen, felt like a princess! The only things I would have wanted is a little richer breakfast with more vegetarian options and the possibility to make tea at the room. But that's small details, over all we are more than satisfied - 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - would really recommend! Best wishes, Alexandra and Majken from Sweden

Unfortunately, the staff were extremely unhelpful throughout our stay, particularly the blonde woman at the front desk. Nearly every request was met with an eye roll or dismissive attitude—from asking for additional room keys and cards to paying €50 to add another guest to our room. The complete lack of hospitality was disappointing; honestly, we have received warmer service at hostels. Although the room appeared clean, there were numerous bugs, and the Wi-Fi did not work. If you work remotely or need reliable internet, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere. When we asked the staff for help with the Wi-Fi, the response was simply, “No,” with no attempt to troubleshoot or offer an alternative. Even if I were offered a complimentary stay, I would not return. We stayed at Design Hotel Neruda Prague on our first night, and it was significantly better for only about €20 more. I highly recommend spending the small difference for a much more comfortable and welcoming experience.

Soft mattress, nice and clean great free breakfast

Great location, clean, staff was friendly, walking distance to everything, only a few blocks from the tram to the airport. most importantly, the mattresses were super soft, which is important for me. It was convenient and the free breakfast was awesome not boring continental but full on hot food.

It's the second time I stay at the Golden Key hotel and I totally recommend it. It's a very charming and clean place, the breakfast is very good and the rooms are amazingly comfortable. It's beautiful and very well located, just a few minutes away from the Castle and from the hill and also from Charles' bridge, which leads you to the Old town.

Beautiful building, welcoming and very helpful staff. Breakfast choices were lovely and plentiful every day. Location spot-on, central to all places of interest. Felt at home very quickly..always a good sign. Would definitely stay again!

Fantastic stay

Reception staff were excellent. Friendly and very helpful. The bed in our room was extremely comfortable. The shower pressure was fantastic and the bathroom had my favourite l’Occitaine products. Our room was on the lower ground floor which had access to a private garden area. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The location near the castle was perfect. Would highly recommend this hotel.

First off, the hotel is located on a very steep hill, which was ok for us but they need to mention it to other people who might not be ok climbing the hills. The building is very old. which is cool, but do watch your head, very low ceilings at some places. The lobby was very ok, nothing special. We only checked in for 1 night and our air conditioner was not working. We were offered no solution, just a fan... It was broken before us, but they don't seem to be in a rush to fix it. The room itself was clean and spacious, many windows. We had to keep them open to keep cool air coming in, and there is a cafe in a courtyard, which was pretty loud till about 12am.

Enjoyable 3 night stay

We had a junior suite which was very decently accommodated (room 13). Plenty of space and a very good sized bathroom/wc as well. Service and check in were pretty faultless and the hotel is also very well positioned for most of the major attractions in Prague. Only issues were that we found the lighting in the bedroom to be a bit on the dim side. The only other area which I think could be improved is the breakfast. While there's a really good choice of cold food stuffs and good coffee/tea making facilities, the hot food in the steamer was somewhat lacking - rather poor quality, anemic looking frankfurter sausages - and the supply of hot food would sometimes run out. On our first morning we arrived just after 9.30 and there was almost no bacon left and the beans were finished. We asked for the latter to be replenished, although got the impression this wouldn't have happened automatically given that breakfast service ended at 10.00am. Also, the heater wasn't particularly efficient at keeping food warm. Given the cost of rooms at the hotel I would have expected eggs that eggs would have been available to order from the kitchen. All told, a very good experience overall, with some potential for improvement. I'm unsure as to whether we would stay at the Golden Key again, although we found the staff to be friendly whenever we met them.

This was a great stay--my favorite aspects were being able to open all the windows for some fresh air as well as how comfortable the bed was (on the firm side). The room was also a bit bigger than expected which is always nice.

cannot say enough good about our stay! The staff were super kind and helpful, they provide you a drink of prosecco on arrival which was very nice. No extra cost to hold our luggage when we arrived early, and breakfast was included. The room was spacious and very clean, and the location was in the beautiful mala strana area away from the business of old town but close enough to the sights!! 10/10 stay and would recommend.

This is one of the hotels that has been cobbled together from a number of older buildings, but it has an elevator and our room was renovated and up to date. The location is excellent for visiting the castle, but be warned it is an uphill walk from Old Town and Charles bridge. Staff members were helpful and the included breakfast was outstanding, with something for everyone. We enjoyed our stay.

Marina was a pleasure to deal with at the front desk. The room was quaint, and the bed was really comfortable. The breakfasts were the best hotel breakfast we have ever had at a hotel—and better than some I have had at my house. If you are carrying luggage, do not accept the suggestion to walk. It will be uphill if you are coming from the metro. This is a great place to stay, and my wife and I agreed that we would definitely stay here again if we make it back to Prague.

Very centrally located hotel close to Charles Bridge. Many convenience stores and shops in same street. We arrived early for check-in and luckily room was available. Lovely spacious room on ground floor with patio access and very clean. Grateful for friendliness and warm welcome. Caring receptionist arranged for packed breakfast due to early departure next day and being tea drinkers we were provided with a tea pot and tea bags. Coffee maker available in room.
